One of the joys of membership in BF is meeting the many knife makers who are members. I have purchased a few knives from these great craftsmen. One of them is Alexander Noot of LX Blades in Netherlands.
First off Ive had mixed results buying/selling off shore (off shore for us in the US.) So I am a little hesitant when ordering knives from other countries. However, I was shocked when the knife I ordered on April 29 arrived today on May 5. I do understand that customs can be problematic and out of our control. But I got my knife from Alex in less time than I get some knives shipped here in the US.
During the buying process I had a bunch of questions and exchanged several PMs with Alex. For this metric-challenged guy he put everything in numbers I could understand. Explained some of the uniqueness of file knife I was wanting to purchase. This was an A+++ 100% satisfied transaction. One of the things that really sold me was that Alex had a video of the file knives that he was selling posted in the sales thread. I really like it when knife makers add videos to their sales. Its not like a production knife that may have 10 or more YouTube vids out there to look at.
I may do a review of the knife so wont go into details about it, but will post some photos here. Again, our BF family of knife makers produce UNIQUE one-of-a-kind knives. When you get oneits your OWN knife and 400 other people dont have one exactly like it.
This file knife is from a NICHOLSON of Holland file, and is 6.5 inches long. It was promoted as a fixed blade pocket knife with sheath. I am a sucker for smaller fixed blade neck and pocket knives and this is a great addition to my growing collection of them.
Thank you Alex and BF. Mike
