Alias II or Sage II

It's definitely thicker than a Mnandi. The total thickness of the RIL Sage is 7/16", or about 11.2 mm. Each scale is about 1/8" thick.
Thank You, mr. Deacon!:) The more i think, the less i can resist buying the Sage II:(

The Sage II is a steal for the price I think! Full Ti handles and a great blade shape and steel!

Check out a Benchmade mini TiPika too!

I own an Alias II w/ Devlin Damascus blade (very nice knife)
A carbon fiber Sage (also nice) I know it's not Ti ... but it give me a clue as to how they handle
And I just picked up the mini TiPika

I love the Bradley for it's cool profile, size, sturdyness, the way it carries, and feels in my hand ... I dislike the stud, and it doesn't seem to be as smooth opening as a Sebbie ... the damascus may have something to do with that though (S30V might be smoother than the Devlin D)

I love the Sage for all the reasons I love Spydies ... ease of opening, good steel, good grip (forward choil on this one) they hold their value ... I dislike the width it takes up in my pocket as compared with the Alias or TiPika, the leaf blade seems to get a little attention on the sheeple radar when I pull it out in public (not a big deal though really) and the blade doesn't quite center in the handle when closed

The mini TiPika I'm really enjoyin' ... Spydie licensed hole, Ti Scales, slim carry, very nice profile, smooth clip/scale contact (holds firm but doesn't rip the crap outta my jeans pulling it in and out of my pocket), smooth action, slimmest width of the three, cool pocket clip design, and it comes in at about 1/4 to 1/3 the price of a Sage II or a S30V Alias II ... the only thing of course is the question of blade material (9Cr13) but so far I've been able to put a great edge on it, and it doesn't seem to want to curl or dull easily ... the difference between my upper end steels and the 9Cr13 seems to be too slight for me to notice at this time ...

might be worth checkin' out ...

Happy Huntin'!

I own both a Bradley Alias I and a Sage 2 RIL. I'd actually go with the Bradley. I'm a Spyderco fan and the bulk of my knives is Spyderco made, but there's something about the Bradley I like more. Its definitely easier to open imo, the anodization on the thumb stud is just beautiful and the locking bar just seems stronger on the Bradley.

I do have to admit ergos on the Spydie are better though.

The Sage II is the best bargain of any knife made IMO.
It and the small micarta sebbie's are my favorite EDC's, and the Sage is the only knife I like as much or more so than my sebenza's.

My D2 PARA and CF ZDP Caly3 are nice knives in this size range, but the Sage feels much better than both in hand. I also much prefer a Ti framelock over any other type folder.

I have the Sage II and a Buck TNT and next to CRK they are the best manufactered frame locks I've seen. They are both cutting machines. The grind and sharpness are extraordinary. IMO the Sage II and TNT are pretty similar. The Sage II is a little easier to open cause of the Spyderco hole. I like the clip on the Sage better. The clip on the TNT was so tight I had t bend it out a little. The Sage II goes deeper in the pocket. The TNT carries a little better in the pocket cause its not as wide as the Sage. The TNT seems slightly smoother opening, maybe its the teflon washers. The Sage II feels more comfortable in the hand and gives you more grip options with the choil. The Sage is tip up carry while the TNT is tip down.
They both are great buys. I can't remember the cost of the TNT but I think the Sage II is less. Both lock up great. Both use S30V blades and titanium handles. If you want folders that are cutting monsters you can't go wrong with either.

It's not licensed by Spyderco.

I like Ti framelocks (I have a small Sebenza, Buck Mayo, and Buck Waimea) and all the pictures I have seen of the Sage II just ooze quality. I have not had the chance to handle one yet; if I didn't recently get a pay cut I would probably be buying one. I like the Spyderhole for opening better than thumbstuds (hence my regular carry of my Millie, CF Caly 3, D2 Para, and UKPK). And one more thing that no one seems to mention is the way the handle scale is drilled out in the corner where the lockbar sits. I have always looked at my other framelocks and thought of this as a possible source of stress risers (if Ti is susceptible to this like steel is) but Spyderco has even thought that one through and with the drill have radiused the corner. Even CRK does not do this with the Sebenza.

I have been impressed with the the quality coming from Spyderco lately. My most recent purchase (D2 Para) is noticeably better in the fit and finish than the S30V Para that I bought four years ago.
