Been working so much lately I decided to take today and head to the farm for some down time and shoot some groundhogs. Unfortunately forgot the camera. They weren't very active which surprised me because today's weather was awesome. I took my Remington model 700 bull barrel varmint rifle in 308 caliber. I'm shooting 100 grain hollow points. Made two shots, one at 240 yds and 260 yds. Those rounds are devastating on groundhogs. I've shot crows with them and they practically vaporize. I also had my TC Encore pistol in 243 cal. Missed a shot at 300 yds. Real close. Longest shot I've made with that pistol was 395 yds.
Anybody else out spring/summer varmint hunting?

No groundhogs in the garden, by order of the guys who busted hump planting it. We've been having fun ;).

Scott sounds like some awesome shots you made.I have not been varmint hunting but have been sighting in quite a few of my rifles. Bought a few new scopes so i rotated some scopes. My Weatherby 300 mag is sub MOA.I love that rifle!!!
