I'm looking for the best flipping action I can get for $100 new or used any maker. I live in Colorado and want to Carry with pocket clip so blade no longer than 3.50". I own two Kershaw assisted knifes witch I love. But I want to feel a unassisted more refined knife. As a guy with OCD I can tell you there is something magical about the feeling of deploying a blade. Amazing materials and limited production do not excite me like putting a small amount of energy in to the flipper and feeling the knife go to work. If you have a knife in mind please advise me on what would be a good fit.
Thanks Nate

Buck 830 Marksman is the production flipper with the best action I've handled. One thing to be aware of, though, blade is listed at 3.5" but some reports are that it's closer to 3.75". If you want it I would call a reputable dealer like BladeHQ, GPKnives or Knifeworks and have them measure for you to be sure.

The ZT 0770 and 0350 are assisted flippers; and both have 3.25" blades.
I've never de-assisted either of them; but people say they flip great without the spring, and it's an easy task.

Kershaw does have the "Nura" which is a flipper with KVT ball bearings for only $35

Buck Marksman, Boker Kwaiken (they pop up for $100 all the time), Kershaw Strobe and Nura 3.5. All well within your price range and ride on bearings for crazy smooth action. The Buck Marksman is the fastest manual knife I've ever cycled. I can open and close one in less than a second.

the CRKT Foresight has amazingly smooth flipping action for a folder under $100. i love this knife, the only thing is that the pocket clip is small but i got over it pretty quick. has ball bearings.

CRKT Fossil 5460 is the small one, blade comes in at 3.41" with IKBS bearings. Mine snaps right out :D

I got this a month or so ago and love it. It's my first flipper, so I don't have anything to compare it with. I've been flipping the hell out of it (which really annoys my wife when we are sitting down watching tv), but it's still solid. probably the best knife under $50 I've ever had. Got it from Amazon. Comes in 3" and 3.5" (I got the 3").

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I have it narrowed down to ether the KERSHAW RAM or
BUCK MARKSMAN
It's funny that they both are knifes i probably would not have picked with out a recommendation. Solely because of there strange locks.

The strange locks are a part of what makes the action so good. Most flippers are frame or linerlocks and that creates a pinch point where the lock, or more accurately the detent, drags on the blade as you're opening it. They can still be very smooth, but it's a built in weakness that they have to overcome.

I had no idea the ram was an option for you! Get one if you can. One if my favorites,. Outstanding flipping action, cool lock and I like the 14cr steel
