I'm also liking the smallet ontario tak with the d2 coated blade I heard d2 is comparable to stainless in regards to corrosion resistance any thoughts??

The more I look at it the more I'm liking the SOG field pup. I was thinking about trying to find or maybe getting a kydex sheath made for it. ANy ideas??? also I aasume its reasonably sturdy you think it would be good for light battoning?? ie..kindling, trap parts, shelter?

The Field Pup looks like the best of those you have mentioned. AUS6 isn't a great steel but it will probably do fine for you. At $37.00 it seems reasonably priced though not compared to most Moras. It is fun to window shop too, eh?

get a field pup over a seal pup, a seal 2000 over a field pup, or a tigershark over a seal 2000

Check out the NRA Snody,2nd one up from the bottom.
It's 440C so slightly better steel than the SOG's....Benchmade quality and just a good all round small knife !

I own a swak, field pup and at least a dozen other fixed blades,but the swak gets the most use.The field pup is a great little knife that takes a good edge and handles nice.Buy the pup for most tasks,a swak for the water and a tramontina 12'' mackete for the heaver stuff and save $40!
