Well, just finished polishing up my mini socom. Looks great, got rid of that crappy bead blast. It has been polished to 600 grit, I may mirror finish it later, if I so feel. When/if I get the chance to get a pic of it, I'll post it.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one here who doesn't like a bead blasted finish.

Jadis, make the time!

Good move Jadis. I am starting to feel as totally negative towards bead blasting as Joe does to linerlocks

. Why put a finish on a blade which encourages corrosion? Last night I prepared dinner with my Moran, gave it a quick wipe and put it away, couldn't do that with a blasted bead blasted blade.

Cheers,
Clay

Ooouuu weee, sure am glad I got the Black Ti blade on my SOCOM M/A. Never liked black coated blades until now. Looks very nice on this knife and it should protect from rust much better than a bead blasted one, then.

Only had one problem with a bead blasted blade, my Emerson Commander started surface rust, which I caught early and was able to get it off. My suggestion would be use the Marine Tuff Cloth and Tuff Glide on these bead blasted blades. That is what I do now, constantly! I don't know whether or not if I should use this on the Black Ti, I think I will only use REM oil on this one.

Oh well,

< Doug >
