I just got one of the blades for my birthday. Truthfully the finish is lacking. The grind is off a good 1/8th at the start, and probably 1/16th on the mid line. There is no edge to speak of, and what there is is chipped ragged and toothy. It may actually be a heat treated bur, which is just lazy. will need quite a bit of work to finish, but should finish nicely after some work. I think the blade is actually O1, not "Swedish steel" like claimed on lee valley. I assumed that meant 12c27, but there's a patina like O1 gets on it.
Website is interesting. You can find some one offs for not more than the blade and handle cost from lee valley. Also have some different blade shapes. I like the #12
