All Kwaikens - love them or hate them?

I have a love/hate relationship with Kwaiks. Had the Boker and loved it for about a month then gave it to my fiancée. Next was the CRKT Obake that was kept for about a week then sold (was useless to me). Then about a year later I had a Kwaiback MK4 for a couple months. Traded it. Currently, I have this custom I bought about a month into my Kwaiback and so far it's been my absolute favorite kwaiken. Made by Chris Guay (new maker). 52100 blade. Ti liners. Bearings. Micarta scales. Seriously one of the best flipping, smoothest knives I've ever handled.

I think the Bokers are attractive, but they seem heavy for their size.

They are a bit heavy but they're so compact you dont even notice the weight.

I like the style, but I have not seen a single bloody one that has lefty clip drilling! Damn tyrannical oppression!

The CRKT Otanashi (4.5 inch blade) and Shizuka (3.875 blade) both have the clip mounted on the butt end of the handle. And it can be flipped over for left hand carry. Of course, the frame lock is still going to be r/h friendly. But that's never been an issue for me.

Also the Hissatsu and the Heiho, which are assisted openers. Both have flippable clips.

That looks amazing. The grinds are super clean and the blue and copper really pop together!

So I wanted to have a discussion with folks and their opinions on kwaikens. Is it a model that you love or hate?

I have the Boker versions myself.
Pros:
Ultra nasty stabby blade profile
Super compact carry
Really good looking overall package
Different from what is out there
Thick blade allows you to do stuff you wouldn't do with a thinner edge.

Cons:
Ultra nasty shabby blade profile
Too thin to grip in the hand, tad slippery
I had to reprofile the edge to get it to slice ok.

I actually acquired mine as a Christmas present from my brother in law and his girlfriend and the other one from my wife aka I'm forbidden from ever trading them.

This thread is open to all Kwaikens and not just Bokers of course. So what do you about them?

You know your attached pic is of a Boker Urban Trapper right? The one in the pic with the coffee is a Kwaiken but the other is not. Just not sure if you knew. ;)

I know! Clumsy fingers. At the time I had picked up the kwaiken mini kwaiken and urban trapper all in one swoop.

Ive actually only kept the mini but had it reground by big Chris to be slicier, love it!

Dang that regrind is awesome. Looks great. I had a 710 reground by him. He does great work.

I really dig it. The bad thing is that I've held off getting a mnandi as the mini kwaiken fits that niche for me.
