ALL NEW Busse Pets Thread

luethge luethge Appreciate it brother! They are having a blast. We are going Squatching tomorrow in the Oregon area...pics to post if we find one.😅

2020/21 was brutal.. Lost my litter of 3 sibling cats in 10 months to widely different senior health problems- then 1 more a week later, a friend's cat whom I also was very fond of.
In November '20, I adopted a young female cat to keep my last companion company, as she took the losses as hard as I did... So I'm down to one here now, a local rescue cat I bailed outta jail that is absolutely the sweetest, gentlest little girl who instantly bonded with me, & is quite well trained for a cat. I got her trained her to a harness in a day, no fight, no fuss. Amazing little girl! 🤙

The youngest of my original boys, at 15 yo literally gave me a goodbye hug at the vet when it came to saying goodbye...
They're amazingly complicated creatures!
I don't think my current 2 will give a flying f*** if it's me or them going under...

Not sure why I hadn't posted this guy earlier. This is our current Rotty, Gabe, that I've talked about on here before. He's about two in this photo. It's the same photo that is in my avatar.
At this point, he turned 8 back in September. 2020 was a rough year for him. We had to have him neutered because he developed benign prostatic hyperplasia. Now at 8, he's getting old enough he can't quite hang with me on our long walks. Starting to turn gray in the face, and around his neck. Although I think the neck grayness is because he's damaged the fur follicles in his neck. We had to install an invisible fence, and he's so stubborn, he'll go an stand IN the field of the fence, with two collars on, getting shocked by both. We finally learned he was doing that, and now try to keep an eye on him so that if he starts, we can go out and yell at him and get him back in.

Fine lot of 4 legged fur for sure.
So I have a surprise, there's a new Busse dog in the family. we've had her 3 months now, she's 71/2 months old. A rescue mutt puppy from a shelter that originated somewhere in Texas. She was the last of the litter not adopted. Somehow got sent to Michigan and that's where we found her. I'm still trying to get a photo with a knife in her mouth as she puts everything in her mouth. So don't ask me what she is, cause I don't know. But tell me if you recognize her parents anywhere 🤣 It's been about 10 years since we lost our last girl. She too was a mutt we had for 17 wonderful years. Took a while to bounce back from that but the timing was right and we did it straight away.
I'll be honest, I thought we got a broken toy. She was timid, frightened and bewildered. So after understanding, she had not known anything but concrete walls, floor and fence her entire short little time. she had no interaction with other people or dogs other than being fed. But happy news is, She's an entertaining goof, happy as a pig rolling in warm mud. but above all, absolutely a spoiled rotten brat - just the way they should be, spoiled.
All you guys posting pics, talking about your pets, it kept that fire alive and made me realize the void. Eventually, it even got to my wife. She plays all hard and cold but I know better.
This is "Summer" She's all legs man, enough for 2 dogs.

This is when we first got her - Now she owns all the furniture obviously - which she's not fitting into quite as well as she was 🤣
