ALL NEW Busse Pets Thread

lot's of chefs either tenderize it or freeze it first which will also break up a bit of the protein bonds.

I know one place in town that might have it, but doubt it. Someday will drive a couple hrs. south and see if can get some in the cities. Somebodies got to have som3. Will pick up some linie aquavit while I'm down there too.

Made shrimp last night and totally with you NY with the olive oil. Always used to use butter but OO'S way better. Might have a better cook than I try to cook the octopus (if can find any) cause knowing me, would mess it up.Sounds like gotta do it right or won't be good. Would probably try raw too though.

I forgot to come back and post some pics here. We have some LGD's (Livestock Guardian Dogs) that we raise to protect our livestock from wolves, bears, cougars or anything else that might find our property tasty on our dime. Have not lost any of our critters since we went that route.
This is Duke Silver aka Ron, a Macedonian Sarplaninac (very old original dog breed rumored to have served Alexander the Great) and the most intelligent dog I have ever met.

Asha is the 3/4 Anatolian Shepherd & 1/4 Great Pyrenees HBIC, though she is sweet with people. Ron is behind and downhill from her in this shot.

Our newest LGD Tigerhide Infi is still just a pup at 9 months and a brindle version of the same mix as Asha. Very intelligent and dutiful though not an alpha.

We also have chickens, ducks and yaks, but very few of them get treated anything like pets. The yaks are pretty fun though and a few are tame like pets.
Not this one, crazy Daenerys was raised rough by her previous home, but has produced two years in a row as seen with her two offspring here.

Bullet, our Bull is quite the impressive fellow, standoffish but harmless. Yoko and Tashi are his dark lady friends off to the right.

Whitey is the sweetest one of the bunch, smartest too.

That is so cool Tim,, thanks for sharing.
I love the 'old world' breeds, and seeing those yaks in the snowy mountains is just awesome.

Thanks, I had never heard of a Sar (Shar) until last year. Once I met eleven of them and got to pick the best one I have been extremely impressed. Very intelligent, happy go lucky dogs until there is business to tend to which they make short work of so they can get back to the happy life. It is one of the few dog breeds that can successfully take a wolf one on one, which is what they were bred for in their homeland. We lost our male Anatolian/Pyr sire, Dierks, this past summer due to a spine injury from him trying to be too friendly with the yaks. Yaks don't like dogs and some are pretty aggressive about it which is good for our area with wolves. Ron runs the yaks off if they get too close, especially to puppies or our boys, where Dierks only wanted to befriend them at his own peril.

We miss him, he was a good boy and hard worker as he drove off two bears, three wolves, countless coyotes, multiple raccoons/skunks and one cougar in his 5 years with us, that we know of.

Great pics Tim. The wife's been talking about a dog a lot recently, but busy schedules and cramped apartment don't seem fair. I do have a pet though don't want to leave him out of the fun!

This is Sebastian. Baird's rat snake probably six+ feet if I stretch him out. He's an old man now. Chillest snake you could ever meet. The pic is dark and through glass, so I'll try to get more next time I take him out after he sheds, but his coloring is really great. light blue, yellow, and salmon is the only way to describe it.

Thanks for the the Pitbull shirt MaggotBrain. This is what makes our community awesome! Coco is a 3 year old hog catch dog. That has weaseled her way into my family and we are happy to have her

My two bullies! Pooter and Tootie (if you ever had a bulldog you know that they have earned those names). Miss these guys. Had to send em to live with family since I can't take em to Puerto Rico when we move.

Have a cat too named Roxanne. That was one of her first kills (that she showed me at least) as a kitten.

Here is Mouse, my old pup. He was only 2 in this photo. A big boy... @ 135lbs... his mom was a big/thick chocolate lab and dad was a big standard poodle (white). Ironically he was the runt of the litter. Best dog I have even met. He passed Dec '14. Jumped my gf's fence to chase deer that came down her ally (first time he'd ever cleared the fence) and got hit by a truck. I was out of town for work. Bad day. About ready for a new pup this summer... thinking Rhodesian Ridgeback...

Tim, great looking dogs and Yaks!
