The Spyderco Dog Tag Carbon Fiber Folder Plain Edge Knife is based on a custom knife design by Serge Panchenko, and the construction method of this knife is a departure from Spyderco Knives traditional construction methods as with the satin finish version. A non-locking folder, a detent holds the blade in the open position. the blade is held in place in the open position by a detent mechanism. A ball bearing in the handle scales integral spring arm indexes holes in the tang of the blade to hold it both open and closed.
Note: Care should be taken during use since the blade does not lock. Only apply cutting pressure in a direction that maintains the knifes open position.
