Done into the ground, but I'm curious (hey, opinions change...mine has). You have to get rid of every knife you own, except ONE of each type (fixed, folder, neck/small fixed...aww hell, the ONE sharpener you'd keep, too). What are you gonna' keep?

Fixed Blade: Fehrman Final Judgement

Folder: Benchmade TSEK Axis (if this was in VG10 or S30V, I would consider it to be the perfect folder)

Neck/small fixed: Spyderco SPOT (VG10 and micarta plain edge)

Sharpener: Hewlette triple sided Jewel Stick

Fixed: Dozier Yukon Pro Skinner

Folder: MT Amphibian

neck/small fixed: I guess I could make my Dozier Straight Personal into a necker.

Sharpener: DMT Duo Sharp (Coarse/Fine)

Folder - Buck 110
Fixed - Ka-Bar USMC
Neck/Small Fixed - Will pass on this one.
Sharpener - Spyderco Sharpmaker

Fixed: Not sure, don't use them much. Probably a Dozier though.
Folder: Buck Mayo
Small Fixed: Bark River Mini Canadian
Sharpener: Sharpmaker

Fixed Blade: EK Combat Bowie

Folder: BM 730 Ares

Neck/small fixed: Bud Nealy Aicuchi

Multi-tool Leatherman Supertool

Sharpener: EdgePro Pro

Fixed: Large laminated Japanese cooking knife.

Folder: AFCK - M2.

Small: Arclite.

Sharpener: Sharpmaker.

Folder: JW Smith MRC
Neck: Polkowski CQ4
IWB Fixed: RJ Martin Kwaiken
Tek-Lok Fixed: Strider WP Spearpoint
Bowie: Russ Andrews Bowie (7")
Sharpener: Dan's Whetstone 1"x4" one soft Arkansas/one transluscent
Wish List: Pirela Folder

Fixed...Cold Steel stainless Tanto
Folder...Benchmade 805
Neck knife...none
Multi-tool...SOG Deluxe Pocket Powerplier
Sharpener...Smith's Tri-Hone

Folder: Fallkniven U2

Fixed: An old modified hunting knife that I have customized for my use.

Now if it was just ONE knife I could keep regardless of type, Spyderco full serrated Delica VG-10

i'd keep the little fixed-blade i just finished (#3 of 3).
and my mikov auto.
peace.

Fixed: Simonich Raven
Folder: SAK Champ
Necker: Probably one of Tom Krein's neckers.

Wait....WAIT !!! I forgot my Victorinox One Hand Trekker.

GOTTA have that one.

Oh hell, this is silly. I'm never gonna have just ONE knife. Neither is anyone else. We'd knap chert if we had to.

Phoo!

Fixed: A tough call, either my CRK Mountaineer II or my Strider EBS.

Folder: TNT

Necker: none

Sharpener: Sharp Maker

Multitool: Victorinox Cyber Tool 41

Awwww, C'MON EVERYBODY!!!!! This little exercise MAKES you decide what knives are your absolute faves. It's supposed to be fun! :D

Pardon me but I'm going to cheat a little. I'll divide the folders into two categories:

Gent's folder: Mnandi

EDC folder: small Sebbie

Multi-tool: LM Ti Charge

Fixed = Spyderco Moran

Folder = Spyderco Native (s30v)

Neck = Krein TK1

Sharpener = Sharpmaker

Discounting custom knives...

...for commercially made production knives, I would say -- for me -- no knife is totally expendable.

Yeah, it's only as cool as the next knife that comes along.

Now, I don't have the huge number of knives many of you have and I'm thinking about getting rid of some to finance my other hobbies (What the? What other hobbies can be more important than collecting knives? :eek: )

Thinking of parting with my MIB Benchmade 750 Pinnacle, and MIB Y2K BladeForums REKAT SIFU D2 SE, but I guess I won't part with my MIB Spyderco "Q" with original spider in web motif. Yeah, that silly novelty knife that originally sold for $30 or $40! I don't know. I think it's just too cool to sell...then again, maybe not. ;)

Well..I recently had to get rid of every knife I owned (nearly) and guess I did end up keeping exactly one in each category now that I think of it.

Folder: MT Kestrel (black) auto
Fixed: REKAT Hobbit Warrior and Trainor
Neck: Camillus EDC
Multi: Leatherman Wave
