All purpose belt. What do you use?

Campmore Climbing Belt or their Tortoise and Rabbit synthetic belt. These are my only belts.

Not supremely "tacticool" but I like the old military & boy scout "webbing" type belt...allows for almost infinite adjustment and easy to tailor down to your size so you don't have a lot of belt overhang.

Kinda Like these:

I've seen them with brass hardware that would be okay for sailing.

A possible con...you really need 2 hands to manipulate and the buckle can be a little scratchy...

This is typically what I wear as well. There's definitely a weight limit for it as it's not stiff at all, but you can still hang a water bottle, knife, flashlight. It looks fine on jeans with a tshirt walking around the city or on cargo pants in the woods. It's kind of like a cotton bandana cheap/versatile.

I'll throw in a couple too. Since you are military go to GOVX, they have some good belts there and when you sign up get 15 bucks off. If you want nylon and something you can wear in uniform you will need a riggers belt in some capacity. If you want something you can wear in civies and not stand out I would suggest a thick leather belt. There are many great options out there but I personally use wright leather works and their belts are bull hide and very thick and sturdy! Definitely worth looking at.

Back to riggers belts, there are some pretty big names out there and I think it falls on what type of buckle you like. 5.11, Tactical Taylor, G-code, Black-hawk and many many more quality ones available. May not be a bad idea to have a "duty" belt and a "civie" belt.

I've got a pair of black leather gun belts from the Beltman. One's 1.5" the others 1.25".
I've retired the 1.5" to use with a Milt Sparks holster and use the 1.25" daily. Works with jeans or suits. I like the black buckle option as the silver just stands out too much. Went with the 7 x 3/4" hole spacing on the second belt. I got real tired of cheap store belts that wore out in six months.

I'm actually going to recommend the Kifau belt it uses a climbing harness style buckle and sits flatter. I've tried just about every style and found drawbacks with most especially those that use Velcro. Simple is almost always more comfortable especially when you don't wear an under shirt.

Mean Gene makes some nice ones! They are leather with a stiff liner in between to allow for carrying a holster or sheath. He makes nice stuff.

You can also check the new Magpul line, they have some nice belts too.

The wilderness. Get the one with the plastic insert. The buckle would make a wicked sap.

Or big foot belts.

Check this one out.... Made in Texas with mil spec webbing and an Austrian made 7075 aluminum alloy buckle. Very cool belt. Free worldwide shipping according to the website. It seems bomb proof... I'm ordering one in double thickness.

The problem with cobra buckles are they don't fit through belt loops so you have to thread them every time. My wife hates these buckles. I just don't like the Velcro rubbing when don't have a shirt tucked in.

Ares ranger belt for one made of webbing, Crossbreed Holsters gun belt for a leather one. I've been very happy with both. They are great if you carry. Crossbreed has a new "Executive belt" that looks nice.
