Hi everyone, I’ve become less interested in knives in the last few years, so here’s a selection of pieces I’m willing to part with. All pieces were acquired around 2004-2012, and were safe queens for me, never carried, sharpened etc (some were acquired second hand, still none looks to my eyes to have ever been sharpened by original owners either, unless otherwise stated). I’m based in Italy, so that’s where I will be shipping things from, and payment through Paypal (PP) is fine. All prices are total prices for the buyer, they are inclusive of shipping through FedEx or other equivalent wherever you live, and already cover PP fees (= PP G&S is fine). I am not interested in trades. I can definitely provide additional pictures if requested.

I also have some other stuff for sales (custom folders, one very rare production balisong), you can find links in my signature

Mad Dog Panther. Around 10” blade (8.85” cutting edge), 15.1” OAL. Weight: 480 g (= 16.93 ounces). I got this from a dealer (quite probably Steel Addiction, iirc). It features a double edged blade, around .25" stock and 1.6" blade depth. Selectively tempered, the knife has a Rockwell C-scale hardness of 62 at the edge (as hard as a file), and HRC 50-54 throughout the spine and hidden full tang. Hard chrome blade finish. The handle is designed to be ergonomic and has the ability to withstand tremendous punishment with little or no damage. Includes a kydex sheath w/ dundee rig. Blade Steel: Starrett 496-01 High Carbon Tool Steel. Excellent condition, blade has a few signs on it (mainly near the logo, from the few times I put it in the Kydex sheath and taken it out - see pic #1) – I’d rate it at 98%. SOLD, includes PP fees and shipment through FedEx or other equivalent

Shiva Ki small Spirit blade in samurai steel. Around 6.96” blade (6.2” cutting edge), 11.4” OAL. Weight: 226 g (= 7.97 ounces). I got this second hand, around 2006-2007 – blade does not look sharpened, nor used, but is less sharp than my other Shiva Ki blades (I have 4 in all, and am offering 2 here for sale). This small Spirit blade features what Shiva called his samurai steel (no idea what it actually is – do know it cost way more than the “ordinary” clay tempered steel), with a clip point blade with false top edge. The handle is comprised of a nickel silver guard and walnut handle over hidden tang construction. Includes Shiva’s classic leather sheath with belt loop. Excellent conditions: blade has a few signs on it, but I would say that most, if not all, of them are from the original forging – Shiva was always one for very utilitarian F&F :) – I’d rate the blade, overall, at 98-99% (it IS less sharp than my other Shiva KI blades, though, and would benefit from resharpening – price reflects that). SOLD, includes PP fees and shipment through FedEx or other equivalent.

Mike Williams MS Hunter. Around 4.4” blade (3.94” cutting edge), 9.25” OAL. Weight: 157 g (= 5.5 ounces). I got this second hand, a bit later than the bowie, and I was told it was from the same 2005 Blade show (but it did not win any award). It definitely has a similar vibe as the bowie, and would make a for a very good set, IMHO. Handle looks to be Desert ironwood, and guard and fittings look to be stainless steel. Not sure what the blade steel is. Comes with its own worked Rowe’s leather sheath. Excellent condition, blade has a few faint signs on it (they don’t show on pics), sheath has a few dings (you can see them in pics) – I’d rate it at 95%. 800 USD, includes PP fees and shipment through FedEx or other equivalent. If somebody would like to buy the whole forged bowie-hunter Mike Williams set (you can see both together in last couple of pics), I can let go of both together for USD 3,100.00
You could probably ask him what steel he used, that set is something he would likely remember, I have seen pics of it before myself. His early knives were often 1084, Jerry Fisk recommended it for budding makers because it was relatively easy to get consistent results. By '05 I'd think 52100. I attended a hammer-in approx '06 Cal Poly Pomona Ca., Mike and the others were talking 52100 up if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the additional info - don't have Mike's contact details or I WOULD follow up on your suggestion (heck, I probably would have done it already, before posting the thread :) - and yeah, I'd imagine he remembers the set, winning best knife at Blade, in any category, does not happen every year after all :) )
