As to the Schrades, there is some good info. on the LB5 history here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/427446-Schrade-LB5-Research

I bought both of them used and gave them "mini-spa" treatments: clean, polish, sharpen, etc. They are in good condition but have various dings, scratches, scuffs, etc. They both lock up tight with no blade play. They are solid, quality knives and feel good in the hand.

Besides the brass vs. nickel silver, there are some other differences between the two. The brass one has a little more scratching. The nickel silver one has a slightly proud middle pin. It protruded more when I got it, but I peened it and it is better now but not quite flush. The brass one is slightly thicker in the handle and slightly heavier.
