I just got another batch of the Ancient Bog Oak back from getting stabilized at K&G.
There are only 17 blocks in this batch.
These pieces were cut quartersawn so there will be some subtle rays and flecks that will show themselves when the light hits from different angles.
Really good coloring from dark charcoal gray to black.
These blocks come with a hard copy of the carbon dating report that dates this wood as 5460 years old. As a point of reference that was before completion of stonehenge and the great pyramids. There were still wooly mammoths running around back then.
