I've always considered myself an accumulator and user of knives, rather than a collector. I'll buy knives that appeal to me, without trying to 'complete a set'. I have, over the years, accumulated a fair number of Great Eastern Cutlery knives that are now highly sought after, since GEC is unlikely to make them again any time soon. I bought them new, as they were released, never paying an ebay markup, and have used all of them. Quite a number are clad in ebony, partly because I liked the way it looks and partly because ebony was usually the least expensive option at the time.

After obtaining a TC Barlow in Glitter Gold Acrylic, I realized that it's my favorite handle material. After carrying it for a few months, my old ebony knives look so dull in comparison. I looked around on the internet, and found that I could purchase this material in blocks or sheets. I decided to take them to a local knife modder and have the ebony replaced. Why not? Knives are tools, meant to be used, and I enjoy using them more when they are sparkly.
Now I'm thinking of putting some glitter gold on a few of my vintage Jacks. Which one should I start with?
