I was just thinking how cool it would be if something like that exists. anyone ever see anything like it? Don't get me wrong, I love all the different inlays available in the Mnandi, it's definitely a big part of what makes that knife so special.

But i still think it would kind of cool to see an all Ti plane jane.

anyone else?

There is no doubt i should have been working for the past hour, but messin around with this was more fun ; ) I would actually prefer the whole slab to be 1 solid piece of Ti but this was just easier for me to screw with in photoshop.

I'd like to see one with Black Canvas Micarta inlays.

Oh, and I already asked CRK about this. :(

Black micarta would be awesome too. You asked CRK about both plain Ti and Micarta? No-go?

love to see OD g-10 scales

although i agree, that'd be pretty darn cool... i think, realistically Micarta or plain Ti would be more reasonable having already been such a huge part of their repertoire over at CRK. The other problem i would have with G10 is that it is such a tactical material, and the Mnandi is pure gentleman, IMO.

I would love a Mnandi in BCM. I have been thinking about that for over a year now. I think it would be a huge seller for CRK's. Simply because if it gets scratched or scuffed it wouldn't be as devistating. A lot of people like me love the Mnandi but I don't carry it as much because it's too nice to get messed up.

Historically, CRK wants the Mnandi to retain a very refined look and feel, and micarta is less congruent with that image. If you're looking for something tough AND looks great, go for cocobolo or lignum vitae. Water and impact resistant. I've been EDCing my cocobolo small Seb for years, and the inlays look about the same -- perhaps just a bit darker/richer.

I would think someone like Barry H. or Peter R. and a few others out there could do something like this.... Man I'm not even into Mnandi's and it sounds cool to me!

I forgot all about lignum vitae. That's the remedy to my problem. Thanks.

For me personally, I'm not necessarily looking for the Mnandi to become more durable. Although I think plain Ti handles would be more durable than wood, I just love the look, design and simplicity of plain Ti handles.

I've never really EDC'd my Mnandi anyway. My Sebenza is almost always in my pocket.

I think it would be a good idea, even if it was a limited run. I think a mnandi with blasted Ti slabs would look cool and would also make a very durable edc for those that like small folders. I would be in for one for sure........But, CRK doesnt do many special runs anymore unfortunately. :(

i could do the non locking side easily enough. it could be quite nice. but i dont have a mnandi right now.

Just a couple thoughts here- if I remember correctly, there is a Mnandi in existence with black micarta inlays- it belongs to Chris & Anne Reeve's son. It was a gift (a pretty cool one at that!) so I doubt that they would be quick to produce more of them. Also, the inlays are adhered in such a manner that they have to be machined out in order to be replaced. Outside of the CRK shop, I would think it would take a pretty skilled machinist to remove an inlay without messing up the rest of the knife.

I'm not sure about plain Ti but I wouldn't be able to resist one with Micarta or carbon fiber inlays.

Probably as close we would get to a all Ti handle is for someone to machine out the wood on a mnandi and make Ti handle scales and attach them with the 2 way tape like crk does. I would go for that and that could be done easily enough by a machinest with a milling machine. That would be kinda cool looking dont you think ??

is posting a pic off topic? maybe, but i can't help myself. I freakin love this thing... i would love all Ti. Also Ti gray is my favorite color, so this gray Giraffe Bone was a no brainer for me.
