ALL you ever wanted to know about Buck Knives!!!

My dad used a 303 from the early 70's to cut his chew off a plug of Brown Mule until the day he died in 2000 . At his viewing I inquired as to the where abouts of his tobacco knife and nobody knew a thing . My family ! Perhaps you'll have better luck Dave . DM

Ok, you want photo of 117 here you go. The only one I have seen in person was good but looked its age.

This one was on GunBroker.com and it was starting at $4,000.00. I talked to poster, it had been in a family, they lived in southern CA. since before WW2. Felt it was worth that. It was mint. But I would worry with 117s they could be faked. Asked a couple of people way above my level, maybe Scotts level, and they felt less than $1,000 for excellent shape, maybe. I don't even watch for it........Maybe Armand will find one.
300Bucks

Thank you kindly for the pic 300Bucks.

I reviewed my photos from this April's OKCA and noticed this one group photo:

Is the top/middle folder a 117? I think that it is.

If so it was right under my big fat nose. Had I recognized it then I would have taken more intensive photographs. Next year...

I really like that display! Anyone know the owner of those fine knives?

In my sequence of photos, that display could have been to the immediate right of the Buck table. I assumed that it was their display. The Buck table was M04 in the table location grid. If that wasn't the Buck table then it would have been M05. However, I still have my grid map and I don't see M05 listed... Also, I could be mistaken in the sequence of photos.

Perhaps a ping to OKCA would give you the answer.

Must belong to Buck.

Who else would have such a great bunch of old knives?

Thanks for the picture.

I believe that you are correct as to it being Joe's display. It looks very simular to what he displayed at the 20 year event in 2008. HL

110 Dave, I haven't been here in a while, but I think you have gotten to the core of what a real collector is at the beginning of this thread.

Maybe others will also understand.

welcome back welcome back welcome back PC-picker!
yes i gave it a lot of thought as to how to
describe that feeling of being a newbie ...
... some times i forget wht it is like to want to
Know Something Now !
and i dont feel good enough to answer questions for them right away
so many times i wait and let some one else answer them..
i get a kick out of the excitement the new collectors show
kind of sparks me up a bit to do some thing
like the opening post here..
i jest wish i could get responses from
CJ Chuck and Joe and Sarah ...
could be they dont like being thought of as elves?
but i really wish for to make the
Mighty Buck Duck giggle a little! :p:thumbup::cool:
