Howdy folks-

Anyone familiar with this maker? I assume he's a Brit, but haven't been able to find his site (if he has one) or if he's even still around. I found this picture of his work and really would like to have one.

Anybody know of this fellow?

Thanks-

cant say I do, mabye some more searching is in order my friend, Ill take a look around as well.

Did you check over on British blades?

Scott/Allan made a helluva knife and if you can get one you will be happy with it. However he is a con artist too. He has problems taking payments without delivering the knives. Very sad to see such talent wasted :( Everyone of his blades though that I have seen was built well and a real value for the price.

hmm, I think spookys best bet would be to ask around here, and mabye over on british blades for people selling them persoanlly, I know a few have gone over there for around $200 american, so its worth a look.

allan used to make some really cool user bushcraft/field blades.. it is a bummer that things turned out the way they did... he used to hang out on the forums a lot back in the day...

his knives do come up for sale from time to time.... i used to have one of his pak pal's in osage... great knife...

I actually own several of his knives. I can't comment on his business dealings problems here because the few times I dealt with him he met the terms of our deal. The majority of my Allan Blade knives came from a friend that is BF Member stationed overseas that sold me some of his knives after ordering them direct.

I actually have a Bushcraft like the one in your attached jpg except it was done in Bocote. Never got around to using it, but the concept seemed to follow the typical Bushcraft style. I actually have it tucked away with some other goodies in one of my household BOB/grab bags along with a Leatherman tool and some other "essentials".

I keep one of is Pack Pals in my wife's car for her to use and I have several others scattered around including some of his larger knives. If you decide you just can't live without one of his knives send me an email to see if we can work something out.

I have had about a dozen of Allan's blades. (nice pun) I still have 4 different knives from his bush craft series. scandi pack pal, scandi grind 4" blade, convex edge on flat ground 4" blade and a scandi grind on a 6" 3v blade . All are very good in the hand and in the field. I sold all the others but kept a pack pal and these bushies because I can't replace them without spending a fortune.
Allan learned the craft grinding knives for Kevin McClung at the infamous Mad Dog Knives. Allan's shop used to be in Spokane Washington.
hope that's the info you were looking for! ;)
be safe...
Ted

Its been said already about Allen Blades business dealings. All true. Not a good fellow. But I won't beat a dead horse.

What I wanted to say was have you ever seen and/or handled one of Daniel Koster's recent Bush craft knives the 'Bushmaster'. I cannot say enough good about them and for a good value as well.. And this man knows how to treat his customers right!

Thanks guys! Sent some messages about those.

Sunny- Thanks for the thought! I had one of his first gen bushcrafters, but the handle was too small for my paws. I haven't gotten to handle one of his Bushmasters, though. (A different model, no?) I am going to wait to try and handle one of his 3rd gens when they come out.

Damn shame. His blades look nice. However there is way to many makers that wont screw you, and make equally nice stuff.

Cool blade.
