Does anyone know of anyone who still has outstanding orders with Blade or problems of any other type?

-Cliff

He still owes large amounts to Joe Chen and Rob Simonich, and smaller amounts to many others.

He does seem to be supplying knives to some people. It's just the guys that have already paid him that don't seem to be getting their knives. Maybe he is getting caught up with them as well, but he has stated over and over that Joe was going to be looked after and so far that has been untrue.

Once again I am going to warn everyone that plans on ordering a knife from Allan; don't send him a penny until you have proof that your knife is on the way to you. Don't even send money if he tells you the knife is ready unless he can give you a tracking number proving it has been shipped. In the past he told many people their knives were ready or would be in a few days and it was just a way to get money out of them. Many of these people have never seen their knives and others had to wait months if not a year or more to get what they had paid for.

I just purchased one of his pakpal knives from the "other" forum. I was not aware that he had any past history. The knife was posted for sale by him, I send the money and the knife arrived on schedule. The blade is a sweet little knife. Hopefully this means he is working thru past problems.

I too, saw that neat little oak handled utility knife. My first thoughts were, "cute little knife, I wonder if he ever fulfilled all those other obligations?" Guess not. :(

I placed three separate orders for one knife each - about six months ago. Paid up front and received each knife without incident. He responded to all emails and mentioned that he was catching up and beginning to deliver on earlier orders.

What forum was Allan selling knives on?

Going through bankruptcy, hey? If I was someone that was owed by Allan, that would lead me to believe he is looking for a way to get out from under his obligations.

Allan sent me this email and asked that post it, so I will do so as it might be of interest to many. If this is inappropriate, one of the moderators can delete it.

Hey,

I see people running there mouths about me again, do you stop to think that I have got quite a few people caught up?

But see that doesn't matter to people really does it?

Why don't you email Jsatch and ask him if I got him caught up?

See the simple fact is I have to make current knives to be able to make future knives and knives to catch individuals up with.

People who have been understanding and are waiting I don't see coming on the Forums talking about anything, its always those who I don't owe anything to.

As far as My Banckruptcy, that is my business who I list on it and for what reasons.
It is a legal remedy for people who are so far in debt that they cant remedy it any other way.

Do you also go against others who have had financial problems and have to take this avenue of am I just still the favorite target?

The Facts are this, all people who I have had current deals with the past 1 1/2 yrs after I got re organized and back on track have got everything they ordered when they ordered it and when I said they would get it, PERIOD.

I will continue to do so and as fast as I can get the few individuals I need to get caught up.

The people/companys like TOPS Knives,,,, Tactical TOOLS,,,, ect,,,ect,,, who ripped off my designs and failed to honor there dealings with me who say I owe them anything can be added to my bankruptcy, end of that story.

DO you even know who I owe anything too lately?

No, you do not, because it less than a handful of people and will be none shortly as I finish getting people caught up.

Why don't you post this EMAIL on bladeforums so people can see it? Or is it better to make snide remarks and unsubstantiated claims about what I am doing or who I have got caught up.

Regards,,,,Allan Blade

Bankruptcy proceedings have advantages for the creditors as well as the debtor. At least you'll get something, and you won't have to wait indefinitely for it....

Like it or not, though, it's legal.

Not saying it isn't legal. Sometimes it is the only way someone can get out from under.

Also, bankruptcy can totally wipe out debt and the people that are owed money may not see a penny.

I could care less about financial woes, I have been through plenty of that myself.

The lies and deception after you trust someone after being warned multiple times from multiple people and trusting them anyway is what stinks. (Yeah, that just shows that I was the stupid one) :barf:

It does sound like he is trying to mend as fast as his mending allows, I've known others that just couldn't seem to bring both ends to meet no matter how hard they try, sometimes being very good can be detrimental in that you don't or aren't able to meet all the obligations or even return emails, it just becomes overwhelming...I had an order in with him, and have an order in with another that I've not heard hide nor hair of since the order was taken.

Now some of you have been on hard times, gone through the fire, made your bones, it was tough, but you made it, a lesser man might not have, Allan may well be that lesser man in the business end of the world of knife making. I saw this thread and just had to express my thoughts, I remember when I spoke with him a long time ago about my small bowie in CPM3V, he had gotten some steel from someone to try out so the metal was a free of sorts, he seemed anxious to give it a try, but things went south, my order was packed in with one that another forumite had placed, he had sent a deposit towards the order and told me recently that he received an email as well, asking for the total sum and that Allan was going to make good the money.

Long winded...sorry for that, but cut some slack, I know you guys have the knives on hand to do so...there, a little over 2 cents...

a way to never have probs like this???

NEVER, i repeat NEVER pay up front for a custom knife. period end. if ya do, and the guy gets behind, and starts making them to sell on ebay/etc to make ends meet vs making them to send to people who sent him $$$ long ago spent, do not be suprised.

if ya go through chapter 7 any or most unsecured debts are gone, wiped out. end of story.

imho its best to NOT take $$ in advance if ya are a custom maker because any little thing which might hold tya back/cost ya $$/car problems/etc, is gonna make $$ tight and its soooo easy to think "well, i can send this to joe(who is paid up on a knife) or sell for $200, what should i do.....? if $$ is tight, ya do what ya gotta do i guess......

doesnt make it right, far from it, but i can understand the logic, ya gotta put groceries on the table for the family ..........

but anyway, there are WAY too many knifemakers to list who make WAY too many nice items to risk $$ on some small time guy who needs the $$ up front/materials up front/etc. there work cant be that good.

best of luck to you guys in getting your property/money back
