I just received a Combat Patrol Bowie from Allan.

Do you remember a TV commercial where this guy is sitting in a chair, music suddently begins and he literally starts getting blown backward....thats what happened when I opened the box. What an incredible knife.

Now I've got to go comb my hair and place another order.

Wasn't that a Maxell ad, where the martini glass slides backwards only to be caught at the end of the table?

I really liked my chipmunk, and wished I hadn't gotten rid of it. Maybe I need one in Talonite?

miguet, what was the "order to ship time"? I have an order in right now for a Field Trek.

Regards,

Bruce

Wow a Field Trek!!! Nice knife, I haven't seen it offered in a long time! What steel and blade length did you order for it? Just curious. Also, good luck getting it!

Turnaround was a month. USPS took an additional month (I hate those guys) to get it to me. Allan gave me the name of a company that sells talonite. I plan to buy some and send it to him so he can make me more knives. I kid you not, this guy is a formidable talent. I've read about him in the forums and just want to say that my experience with him was all good.

Allen Makes great knives. He has real talent. Do you have any contact info for him? I haven't been in touch with him since he moved.

It is good to see that Allan has gotten his time of delivery down to a reasonable delay. I would be very interested in finding out if he has supplied the knives to people that he has owed for going on two years now. Last I heard, Joe Chen had still not gotten a refund or his Chipmunks and he ordered and paid for them in early 2001.

The last contact info I had for Allan was:
anccreations@earthlink.net
allanblade@earthlink.net

Just wanted to pass on a new email address for Allan.

pastorblade@earthlink.net

In an email I received from Allan he says he is managing to catch up on his orders that got so far behind. He admits that he still has a few to go, but it is great to see that he is putting in a true effort to make things right with everyone that he owes.

Keep up the good work Allan, I am pulling for you.

I agree, his grinding skills are top notch. His communication skills leave a bit to be desired. I love his knives and will wait patiently. I have a talonite knife that was getting the final touches over a year ago.

I find it hard to believe, and pretty crappy actually, that so many people are willing to send money to and support a maker who has screwed over so many people. He's lied to multiple people and proven his ethics have much to be desired. When you support men who do these things, you are giving it an ok. His knives may be excellent, but he's still a dicksmack who doesn't deserve the support of the community he has stiff so many times.

JR, I was wondering when someone was going to have the balls to speak the truth about the scam man. I should have known it would be you my friend. The zipper line is still one of the classics:D

Well, I wouldn't look to hit a man when he's down, and Mr. Blade has been pretty low, but there sure are a lot of good reliable and very talented men and women making knives out there who support their customers like their customers support them. Why take the chance?

I have the balls lifter, and I spoke the truth. He never did anything but keep his word with me. From reading here he did not treat everyone the same. I'd just rather help lift up someone who appears to be trying hard to make amends than bash him back to the ground. The man was nothing but nice, honest and forthright with me. That's the truth.

Dave,
Thanks for the kind words my brother.

I'm not in here just looking for a chance to bash AB, I just hate to see people throwing their money at a proven con man and thief. It's like these drug commercials that talk about supporting killing by buying drugs... by buying knives from him, you are supporting a con man/thief. Plain and simple. You can say all you want about how stealing and lying is bad, but if you go ahead and give him your money, you are a hypocrite. You support those things he does.

Alan has "made amends" more then once, and always turned back to lying and scamming. I'd rather support makers who are honest to a fault, that some months may barely make a house payment because they are striving to keep their word and make the customer absolutely happy. There's too many great makers out there who are honest and sincere that deserve my money. I'm not going to give it to support a lying thief. Especially one who has made threats to beat me up if he ever finds me.

Keep this in mind. When you give your money to this man, you are spitting in the face of all the loyal knife nuts he has screwed and lied to while he sets there and laughs at you.

JR

Sorry, I don't buy it. Fine, give up on the man. Fine, take every opportunity to bash him. But don't accuse me of spitting on people for having faith in my fellow man. If I give that up then all is lost for me. People do bad things. Doesn't mean they are bad people.

I choose to think that the people who support Allen could be contributing to his financial ability to make things right for my fellow knife nuts.

Hey Elvislives,
I wasnt directing my post towards you in any derogatory way and didnt mean to offend you. I meant one of the people who had bad deals should speak up. If you're happy with him and the service you get from him, that's cool.
He's "repeatedly" lied to a few friends of mine and done the coming back/making ammends song and dance more than a few times. One time when he was having problems here, he came into chat under a "disguised" name to see what people were saying about him. Knowing it was him I joked about him needing a pair of cement shoes and next thing he was threatening to call the authorities, bwahahaha.
There's no doubt he's a talented grinder, never questioned his talent. The truth is, if he had good business ethics and honest dealings, he'd have more business than he'd know what to do with and a severe backlog. There's lots of people that would order from him, but right now he'd have to send the knife before payment because of his "repeated" track record. I understand a few suppliers would like to chat with him also.
Elvislives, sorry you took my comment personally.

Elvis,

I have plenty of faith in my fellow man. I have given more people the benefit of the doubt then I probably should have. I've been walked on and taken advantage of more times the I care to count. I'm all for trusting people... until they prove they don't deserve it.

Until AB pays back all the money he owes, he hasn't made ammends. He hasn't changed. Like Dave said, this is not the first time he has come out saying "i screwed up, i'm turning over a new leaf and doing right now." He has used that washed up line on multiple occasions, then he still goes off and screws people over.

Until he makes good on the debts he owes, no one should be supporting his thieving ways. He can say anything he wants, but he has yet to prove he has totally changed his ways. When he makes good on all his debts, and stops lying to people, then would be a good time to think about placing an order if you wish. But until then, you are simply supporting a scamming con-artist. Call it what you wish, but facts are facts.

I tried to have faith in AB. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he left his wife and kids for someone he met on the internet. I waited patiently and trusted him, only to get lied to and threatened.

This all goes back to a quote Phil has said many times... if you're willing to send the man your money after everything he has done, you deserve to be screwed over.

JR

If you search this forum you'll see we've had this discussion many times before. Next Allan Blade opens yet another new account here and starts attacking all the people he owes money and knives and materials to. We've banned him so many times I've lost count. He won't be reinstated as a member here before he pays all the people he owes. There's no point in repeating the whole business all over again.
