Hi guys (gals?)
I'm a long time loiterer, but I recently finished my first bk2 mod and would like to share some pics.
How the heck do I upload them?

Are you using a computer or a smartphone? is a lot easier with the phone.[emoji41] [emoji41] [emoji41]

Welcome. You need to upload your pics to a site like photobucket and then copy and paste the url. You should also pop over the the Becker forum and say hi as well.

Nice Austin Powers reference [emoji3]

Here she is dressed.

I used citristrip to remove the coating, added jimping with a hand file and then with carbide tip on Dremel, same with the choil, put a 90 on the spine, 6 layers of chipotle Tabasco for the patina, black tea dyed the micarta scales and upgraded to stainless hardware. I received lots of insight from posts and pics on Blade Forums, so thanks you guys for the inspiration! I have another bk2 and a crewman in the box waiting for a makeover.

Here is my other bk2 stripped with custom Bocote handles. I probably won't patina this one. I'm undecided what mods if any will be made to the blade.

Fellow Beckermen,
I am in quite the predicament. I am feeling the urge to click the magic yellow button on Amazon.
The options are: bk9, bk7, bull dozier ( any one have this one? ), bk10 OR a third bk2. I am not a bushcrafter, but enjoy the out of doors immensely. I also like to be somewhat unemcombered ( paying no attention to the heft of the Campanion of course!) with equipment. I trying to imagine a scenario where I would use the bk9/7 in full since the bk2 has always been plenty for my needs. Thoughts?

You can't not have a 9. For all the big knife tasks out there. Yes, you can cross over tasks from the BK2 to the 9, but the 9 is a better chopper.

If you want something to pair with the 2 on the smaller side (since you said it has always been plenty for your needs), I would recommend an bk11

My bk10 showed up yesterday. Nice " little" knife, though I have large hands and it doesn't feel as secure as the 2. I'm beginning to realize I love the thickness and heft of the 2. Anyone out there use the crewman (10) for awhile? I'm on the fence, every time I pick it up, the little knife devil on my shoulder screams that's not a 2! As of now on Amazon, I could swap it for a 9 for an additional $13. Or straight up for a third 2. I am having a hard time picturing actually wearing a 9 belt, dangle or scout style.

Since personally i don't own a bk10 , anybody knows the difference between a 10 and a Cam bk2 ( talking about thickness)??

The BK10 is a bit thinner, .188" vs. .250", that's 3/16" vs. 1/4", but is the same length as the BK2, 5.5". The BK10 also has the jimped thumb ramp on the spine. The tip is more like the BK9 too. Kind of a truncated BK9 if you ask me. I'm sure others with more experience with these knives will chime in. I just ordered the BK10 as I couldn't find another BK2 for the price I got my first one. I figure, wth, I might as well go for a little variety for now and go for redundancy later. Lol!!

Here's what I've got for now. I like keeping the laser(?) branding on the blade instead of a full polish.

Thanks for the side by side of the 2 and 10 wrangoslash. Did you add the grip spacers to the 9? How do you like the thumb ramp? Seeing your 9 stripped just made me wrap the 10 back up in the pretty Amazon box for a swap.

Just want to make sure you realize the photo is of a BK2, top and a BK9, bottom. No BK10 in that photo. I'll assume you mean the numbers I gave. No spacers as of yet, both seem to fit my not-so-large hands well. I want to give 'em a try in the woods first and see if the stockers work well for me. Some say they are slippery and others say they are just fine. I'm not into the whole stippling thing so it'll be hockey tape or Gahhh!, Micarta ($$$) scales. If you can afford to keep the 10, I would. I think the 10 is probably a better choice than the 2 but that BK9? Oh baby! DO get that one! My field trials will tell if the 10 is more appropriate than the 2 as a companion knife to the 9 when the time comes. I'm having a hard time NOT buying every BK knife available right now. I hate Amazon! I'm such a knife whoore!

My wife bought me the bk16 for Valentine's Day. She asked if I would stop talking abut knives now. I said I'll stop talking about this knife now!
