Just a note regarding this eBay seller. They use the shipping ripoff scam to the final degree. Also, the Victorinox Yeoman they picture is NOT the one you get, (you get an Explorer plus). Anyway, I ordered 5 leatherman micra pouches, the Vic Explorer/Yeoman and a bottle opener. The "stuff" bill was $36 and they charged $26 for shipping! Yes, I emailed them an bitched. I even tried to clarify this before I paid. I'm not leaving a negative feedback, since they will probably retaliate, similar to the way knife-yenta did.:grumpy: :barf:

Youze should get aholda da Soprano boys, and have em wacked! :D

Seriously, though, that sucks and I'm not sure what you can do about it, except avoid them next time. Might want to report them to Ebay, if that does any good. ???

I just had the same problem on Monday with shipping and an Ebay seller. He said in the ad that he charges EXACT shipping and no extra fees. He charged me $26 for shipping and when I got the package it only cost him $9.75 to ship. I posted "neutral" feedback and then he slammed me in Neutral feedback. He said I should've contacted him first. Why should I contact him? Was he going to refund the difference? And if he was then why'd he charge me the diff in the first place? His feedback number wasn't all that high but I'm sick of these people ripping me off. He said he charged me posted USPS rate but he shipped it UPS and I checked UPS and USPS and neither charged that much for the package. He emailed me and I told him that I'm a business owner just like him and didn't appreciate getting ripped off when his ad clearly stated I would get charged exact shipping only.

In your case, I feel he owes you the difference between the actual shipping and what he charged you. I have a feeling that Ebay would support you too.

I just completed a ebay transaction that the guy only charged me $5.00 for shipping and guess what..It was exactly $5.00.

then a few weeks ago I had this other bull shiiit artist try and charge me $15 or USPS priority shipping a item. I emailed him and told him he was full of Shiiit as I ship USPS all the time and
the box is free at the post office
shipping with delivery confirmation is $4.30 for a small box.
large box with delivery confirmation is $5.75..

I would not pay any more..

I always ask what the shipping will be beforehand to my zip code, and then have it in writing as to what the charge will be. So far, has worked well.

Ordered from their website several times...great prices for SAK, Buck, etc.

This was their regular website, not ebay.

They never charged me unreasonable shipping...always what was stated on my invoice.

They did once ship me the wrong item and charge me the wrong amount (there was a computer glitch so I completed my order on the phone). I notified them and they asked me to return the item via USPS and promised to refund shipping. They did so promptly and exactly as they promised.

Not sure why they tried to rip you off. Is the ebay seller the same as the website?

I'm getting sick of the trashy-flea-market mentallity of ebay as of late. I joined it years back when barely anyone had heard of it and I was prophetic in that I always said that the more morons that got computers, the worse it would get.

I started to notice this at gun shows and flea markets...you'd hear "ebay" all the time...and suddenly price for everything went up.

Ever go to flea market recently? Most are full of foreign garbage, from knives to other "do-dads"...they are not like big garage sales anymore. All the swindelers and ripoff artists have migrated to the net and look for new ways to take your money.

My littlest one ran off somewhere with my guitar tuner....so I go to ebay, find a good "Buy It Now" price shipping at $3.95 and a mandatory $1.67 insurance...thru a seller called a1musicsuply. I bought it and paid instantly. A little over 2 weeks later I finally get it. The tuner arrives in a regular envelope with no inurance...his total shipping cost was $1.61. This pissed me off....no excuse for dragging around over 1 week to ship and then poorly ship. Didn't mind paying the REQUIRED insurance...but I didnt get it.

I contacted the seller and he called me a "wuss"...hehehehe what a tool. I'd like to see him do it in person :D

Long story short...I have become extremely less tolerant of ebay sellers...the transaction better be "hitchless" I will leave neg. feedback and report these violation to ebay and Paypal. (they are actually pretty good at solving these problems)

It is time for E-bay to step in and put some controls on shipping costs. I won the bid on a $50 item that stated "actual shipping/handle costs" would be applied to final bid.

The guy tells me he wants $27 to ship from one New England State to another. When I balk he says it's $5 in Postal fees and $22 in "handling costs" I told him to handle it and now await the negative feedback that's certain to be coming. For $22, he could drive it to my door in a Limo!!!
