Almost Christmas

I've become a giant cheap ass since my knifemaking venture and if I ever spend anything on me it's usually on my shop instead since it's still in the early stages of growing... that being said it's a toss up between new snow boots, a .45acp, or a new phone since my iPhone is for lack of better description; shitting the bed lately. However, I'll probably just be a lame ass and save the money from my side gig and save it lol.

Bah! humbug..

Looking forward to Thanksgiving, my favorite

Christmas can't come and go fast enough..

I take anything in satin INFI though..

(will probably be just coal again)

Get the modified handle version! It’s my first “real” fixed blade and is fantastic.

Get the non modified...Choil!!!!
I have a Becker no where close to an ESEE. I'd take an Ontario anything over any K-Bar or Becker number who cares

My Xmas list. Not a knife this year. A pellet riffle. A PCP from Crosman

I have a Spydiechef

and a Shun Higo Nokami on my Christmas list.

Oh, and a CPK EDC2 that I ordered on the last pre-sale.

First I'll mention a knife related gift I'm giving this year: to my best friend who I also work with and spend atleast as much time with daily as I do my wife I've designed and ordered a Gollik custom to match my work EDC. I think I'm more excited about giving him this knife than I have been about receiving any gifts for years! It's a different design I drew up but the same blade type [tanto] and materials [Elmax, OD G10 scales over red liners] as my Gollik knife so they match.

My wish list include a OSU football jersey in the new black pattern they used this year. A real Arbor press and a supply of kydex (I've started bending kydex this last year but am setting the eyelets with a pair of ball bearings and my vise), some new [tree] climbing gear I keep pushing off buying myself and a new pair of 5" knipex pliers cause I lost my other pair this past fall and haven't personally replaced them yet cause I still have my 7" pair and they're almost as easy to carry so I can't justify the purchase myself.

I tell my wife and family not to buy me knives cause I have such specific taste anymore that I'm very hard to buy for.

No toys on the list so far. My wife and I each built an AR15 this year so that was our toy fund.

I don't need any more knives. I'm sorting thru what I have and will be selling some shortly probably.

I'm actually looking hard at the ZT 0095BW
Love my Link..want to upgrade.
After hearing reviews on the Cambria, I'm having second thoughts even though I love Protech.

I have a custom fixed coming in pretty soon. Nice and thin...belt-carry crossdraw. I'm optimistic, as I have the best craftsmen (IMO) doing the work...will show it when it arrives.

Holding out for Black Friday at the moment. Hoping that Bradford Knives and Armatus Carry will be running some deals or discounts so that I can buy myself a Guardian 3 and an Architect kydex sheath.
Already bought a pink Mini Griptilian for my girlfriend as a Christmas present.

It's never too early to buy something for Christmas:). So far this year I got a Spyderco Mule in CPM-20CV and a Para 2, and my wife will find a nice Spyderco paring knife in her stocking. I think that's it, but since I have been really, really good this year, you never can tell;).

The wife and I have decided to not do a big Christmas this year.
Between the early year engagement ring, Mother's day and Father's day, a great summer, our recent Fall wedding, plus a few grand shelled out to remodel our side room which is almost done, not to mention her birthday coming up on Thanksgiving, (and my birthday 2 weeks before Christmas?), it's been an expensive year already.

I also had 4 different jobs in past 12 months, which was good in and of itself, but all things considered, it did still have it's transitional hits on the finances, especially with all the money that went out this year.

I did finally however, land in a company and a position where I'm comfortable enough to have long term vision for myself through retirement. Company is solid, pay and hours are good enough with room to move up, travel is 15 mins. local, people are pleasant enough to work with, and the job itself isn't overly intensive as I'm certainly not getting any younger, so, this is likely where I'll settle in.

The long term vision with the other 3 jobs, which started with getting fired after a few years as a lead in a small steel foundry under shitty management; (I didnt mind the job itself, but hated going to work every day because of the people I worked for/with. One day I just had enough, snapped on my supervisor, all seemed well enough, but a week later I was let go, and that was this time last year. I hit the ground running though and landed a frozen foods "tweener" gig in a freezer all day to get through the holidays/winter, and then went back into construction back in spring where I did actually plan on riding it out long term): always included the potential option of finding a new job, lmao.

As it just so happens, the same Temp agency that landed me the freezer gig, (for a company that definitely wanted to hire me on with a raise and promotion when I gave them my 2 weeks notice instead, to go back into construction), they called me with an intriguing offer for my current position at a glass factory, which was a solid enough offer to change my plans yet again, and hopefully for the last time.

In either case, yeah, Christmas will be frugal this year, but if she opted to surprise me with something nice for my birthday, I'll be happy with whatever I get.

I'm considering a CZ P-09 or the CZ P-07 for myself lately. I have my CCP, but I don't carry a pistol around with me on most days. So I'm leaning towards the P-09 instead. Hits a lot of marks for me, full sized grip, 19+1 capacity, and the biggest plus is the external hammer. It's something I really like in a pistol and it seems to me like it is disappearing on polymer handguns lately.

The P-09 is definitely a quality gun. Love the ergos, very spacious, full size handle. The hammer is a plus too!

My wife and 5 year old daughter sped-ed out a custom Benchmade knife for me for Christmas and benchmade won’t ship custom knives to Canada. Aaaggghhhh!!!

More Spydercos will likely be on their agenda.
