So today the horror of horrors almost happened. Normally I work in an office but I had to be on the floor to cover a vacation. Midway through the morning I go back to my office to check emails and I realize my pm2 is gone, not where it should be in my right pocket, wtf, omg, time to search my clothes and backpack even though I knew it was missing. Went out on the floor and looked for it with no luck, didn't want to say much because we kind of not supposed to have knives but alas that is not the point. Thought about chalking it up for a loss and figuring someone saw it and it was gone, but no that's my favorite knife. Long story short I knew the right person to ask for help and ended up getting it back within 2 minutes. I called off the air support I requested and was able to avoid having to strip search 200+ employees so it was a good day! Anyone else "ALMOST" lose their favorite blade and get it back?

I've done that many times with my sebenza 25. Sometimes I'll open something I forget to clip it back to my pocket.
Luckily it's always where I left it.
That and everyone probably knows better than to steal a knife from the knife guy. We have cameras that I have access to.

Sometimes I'll leave it at home and halfway through the day I'm wondering if I dropped it or forgot it at home. Hate pondering that in the middle of the day...

More elaboration please. If you're going to start a thread, might as well make it a long story.

Yes, multiple times. Depended on which was my favorite at the time. I bend pocket clips regularly.

You wanna talk horror. I hope you never know the feeling of leaving your carry knife in a restroom at walmart and realizing it five minutes after you have left!

I know the feeling!

My Ti Millie slipped out of my pocket once or twice, lost my brain until I realized it wasn't far. Considering getting a custom clip for that sucker.

I was at the end of my shift at work one morning when I reached into my pocket and discovered my work knife missing. My work EDC is a Benchmade Auto Presidio 5000SBK I bought used for $70 off a different forum. It was the most money I had ever spent on a knife at that point, and it was my first ever Benchmade. It has acquired sentimental value as I've carried it every single day at work since I got it. Needless to say I was panicking. I was retracing all of my steps, tearing apart the inside of the ambulance and station looking everywhere. No where to be found. I alerted my coworkers to get them to help, and they gave me so much grief for carrying such an expensive knife. Approximately 15 minutes of anguish later when I had reached the grief stricken acceptance stage, I checked my truck. I had thrown my backpack in the backseat of my truck earlier when the relieving crew had shown up. Apparently when I swung my bag into the truck it must have caught my pocket clip of the knife because I found it laying on the floorboard underneath the backpack. The amount of joy and relief I felt at that moment... I carried it in my hands for a full five minutes just reveling in the fact it was really back in my possession before I dared to even put it back in my pocket lol

So... it fell outta yer pants when you were messing around with your secretary (the 'right person' you speak of)? OR... fell out in the bathroom? :) which is it? you can confess... it's ok ;-)

Lol. Yeah if you don't tell us where and how you lost it, then found it, it's like telling a joke and not revealing the punch line. Come on, fess up. [emoji41]. Don't leave us hangin'. [emoji3]

I lost my Leatherman wingman last week but never found it. I now never carry anything clipped to my pocket. I carry an Old Timer stockman in my front pocket and a Leatherman supertool 200 in a cargo pant pocket or a zipped up jacket pocket.

I want to know about the "right person" in this story. I picture someone with an imposing presence whose proximity inspires spontaneous honesty in the employees.

It wasnt anything too fun, really. I work in a food production plant, and it fell out while I was doing qc checks in the packaging dept. Talked to my friend the lead, an older sweet lady named Francesca, who is Hispanic like pretty much everyone else in that department. She started asking around and had it found in a flash. A woman had picked it up and gave it to the lead guy Papa, who gave it back to me. Unfortunately Megan Fox, midgets and dynamite were not involved.

Lost a large Classic Sebenza I had for 10 years after running errands all day to multiple places. My wife convinced me to go back and look for it 7 hours later with my brother, so I randomly picked Costco, half-heartedly knowing in my heart it was gone forever.

I went directly to the "supervisors station" and immediately saw a Costco employee taking a large classic Sebenza out of his pocket (coincidence?) and showing it to the other workers from 30+ feet away (thank you LASIK lol). I said thank you for finding my knife and he replied, "nice Chris Reeve man!!"

I tried giving him $50 bucks, but he would not take it, all he wanted to show me his Kershaw. True story!!

True story #2

Lost a Benchmade 921 Switchback after owning it for several years that someone gave to me as a gift. Was a real nice little knife like a 940 but with an awesome wharncliffe blade profile (they are semi-rare these days). Was convinced it was lost at Home Depot parking lot and never attempted to look for it. My wife found it in the bottom of the freezer 2-3 years later LOL. Never used it again and gave it to my brother.
