Almost lost my best friend today

Lucky pup. I'd wade nostril deep through a mile of vomit to save my dog from peril. No hesitation. Dogs are special.

Glad she is alright. Absolutely understandable how that could happen. Just a note, if it were me, I'd just give a vet a call and see if maybe a round of antibiotics might be in order just in case. I know of a guy that fell into a lagoon here and got an amoeba in his ear and ended up dying. Don't want to cause alarm, but it it could prevent some problems should she have aspirated, or otherwise picked up, some of those nasties by chance.

My mood actually sank as I read your post. Thanks for titling it positively at least !
Glad it ended well - you now have a great campfire story !:D

Besides, at 10 months she's still a pup. You've obviously spent a lot of 'bonding' time with her if she always comes when you call at that age. Unfortunately, that's the chance we take having dogs.

Personally, one of the things that prevented me from getting another dog for a long time was knowing the day would come when I'd have to make 'THAT' decision about an old dog. The chance we take...

Had to do something similar once myself, although it was a lake and she jumped out of the boat. Before I knew it, I was in the water, threw her back in the boat and swam back to shore pulling the boat.
Best part: I didn't even spill my beer !

I gotta second the vet thing, even if just for fecal coliform.

Im glad she made it out . Ive had to rescue my dog three times. Once from a trap. Ill have to start a new thread on that one.

Glad it turned out ok.

I'm sure the guys were glad to help. I know the few times I've hear people call rescue in for animal rescues, they really come running for the dogs.
