Almost Ready To Ship 2014

John,

I'm loving the way my Improved Bowie turned out. Thank you so much for making it this way for me. I'm going to give it the kitchen work out and carry it as a fishing knife this year during salmon season.

Tony

Thank you! You enjoy it, and post photos.

Now, I might be a little biased, but that could be the best looking knife I've seen come out of your shop!) I think I will call it Paw Paw's Tracker Cub. John, you have really outdone yourself, again. It is always a pleasure to do business with you, thank you for working with me on this project!

Thanks! It was tricky grinding out the finger cutouts, so I got them close, then used my Dad`s old hand grinder with the correct size stones to get them perfect. (And I do mean perfect!)

Nice stuff!

That Tracker Cub really looks a lot like a Badger Attack; a good thing!

That is a really great design, I can almost feel it in my hands.

What is the treatment on the first pin?

best

John, I sure do appreciate you taking the time, and effort, to get it perfect - it shows!

mqqn, thank you!. The BATAC is one of my favorite knives, but didn't use that particular one in the design(but could have - it fits the bill). The knife has a collection of my favorite features from some of my favorite knives. The knives used for inspiration were the JK Kentucky Woodsman, Canadian Bowback (belt knife), Hinderer XM-18, Busse Active Duty, Swamp Rat Rodent 4 & 7, Bill Luckett Fighter, Fiddleback, and the Bark River Bravo 1. It's pretty much a mutt, but I sure think it's beautiful! Bet its a perfect fit too - Can't wait.

I asked John to countersink the first pin because of the way I design my sheaths. It becomes the retention point, and let's me make a sheath that doesn't tear up the knife, while still keeping a very open design.

The G10 I sent John is something I haven't had personal experience with yet, but am eager to test out. It is layers of orange G10 alternated with layers of black carbon fiber. Love the look so far!
