Can we petition Victorinox to make one of their large alox folders to incorporate scissors. They seem to have everything else.
Just imagine an alox solo with scissors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there once was a bantam with scissors in a smaller size. i.e. something like a small compact. can you believe it - it has been discontinued!
:grumpy:

I've noticed a trend with Victorinox ceasing production on the knives we tend to love. The scientist, yeoman, bantam with scissors, and so forth. I'm not sure why they do it, maybe because of marketing or to make way for new models or maybe they just like to screw with us knife guys - in any case I wish they'd bring back (or make some other arrangements) some models.

With that trend it means that the Compact will dissapear soon as it is a much loved SAK....

I read somewhere that they changed the Yeoman to an Explorer because it was a popluar item and they could not easily mass produce it in its original configuation. Did they stop to think that perhaps the reason it was so popular because of what it was? I would be interested to know how well the "new" Yeoman sold. Perhpas it still sells well because all the pictures are of the original Yeoman and that is what people think they are getting when they order it?

It's not exactly a "Bantam" per se, it was called the Tourist- in almost all aspects was a Bantam with scissors with one GLARING omission-

No combo tool! Only the large screwdriver-caplifter-wire stripper blade on it.

I'm also a fan of Alox and I'd love one with Scissors. Not a small one either.

I'm thinking of....like an Electrician Plus with the scissors replacing the saw. I don't need no stinkin' saw :D

i'll sign that petition... big fan of SAKs (vic and wen) but don't like the cell handles, look and feel cheap. huge downer because the rest of the knife is awesome!

I agree.I found an Alox Solo the other day in a drawer and love it.Once you have handled one, the plastic handled ones do feel cheap!
I still love them though!
