Alpha Chef Knives Are ALL GONE!!!! . . . Oops! . . . Sorry about that!!!

Ya know, I still have not (had an Octa), but you know I love me some Islay earthiness. It's absolutely an acquired appreciation.
If I thought I could get Jerry Busse Jerry Busse to tell me his plans with a bottle of Octa? hell yea I'd intrude. But only thing that would happen is I'd have to drive home trashed wishing I could rewind the day, being more confused than ever.....and explaining to the wife why I smell like a fireplace.
Peated scotch was the first scotch I had in the mid 90s. Brora. So it was all I knew for a few years. But I love scotch from all over Scotland. From Orkney to Jura.

Very nice. I have all the 8's, 9's, 11's and 13's oh and I just got the 15.3 in. Haven't tried it yet.

That's impressive collection there, we have half a bottle of 11.1 as well I think. Liquor store next to us has an in with them, so he gets all the new batches every year (I think he has 10 something and at least 2 12's, I can look if you are interested). I'm jealous...but I just keep buying knives....

Funny thing, that bottle did set me back a pretty penny, but I was a gift to my girlfriend. Tiny lady is a total peat head now, with her personal liquor collection (mine is separate because I did own a dive bar at one point and kept a big chunk of inventory hehe), she has Bowmore 18, Ardbeg 10 and Ugendail almost out of corryvreckan, Laproig (don't remember which), Bruchladich heavily peated, Lagavulin 16 because Costco hehe, that Octomore, a bottle of Bunna, Talisker Storm... and lowkey 2L bottle of home brew.

The home brew is super neat. We have a house rule, last shot of whiskey out of the bottle goes into the bottle. It's almost full now, really tasty stuff! It's 95% Islay I'd say, with few bourbons and some other scotches.

Yeah, I have lots of peated scotch. Tons of Ardbeg, Lagavullin and Laphroaig. I forgot that I do have 3 bottles left of Octo 6.1.

Nice, I never eacen tried 6's
Delicious like all the rest. I dont think you can go wrong with any generation. All are good. The port Charlottes are also great. For a lot less money

Definitely. I miss the days when Kilhoman Machir Bay was everywhere for 39 bucks! That was some of the best value in a while

I figured prices would come down, but they havent. At least most of the peateds are available.

Yeah, luckily we can still get the nice stuff. Would be great to find something in sub $40 range as a go to...but then again with your collection sounds like you don't need to buy for a while.

No, I certainly don't. Luckily, most of my friends don't care for peated scotch, so we never break that out when they come over. I do have bourbon, but I prefer scotch. So much so, that I am trading my bottle of Four Roses 130 anniversary Small Batch LE for a bottle of Ardbeg Dark Cove committee release.

Heh, one day you'd have to give me a tasting tour. Purely out of concern obviously, don't want you to be drinking all that stuff alone haha.

Nice trade, at this point there is something missing for me in non peated whiskeys. Not saying I can't appreciate it or enjoy the taste, but at that level, I feel like it'll be a bit wasted on me as opposed to a true bourbon lovers.

If you are ever in Denver, we do a cigar night once every few weeks. Bunch of guys. And the liquor comes out. It use to be once a month, then during covid we made it once a week. now it is every other week.

I'll take you up on that next time we are up there. If you ever down in LA, I'll try to return the favor.
