So, for some times now by the forums suggestion I have been carrying a Spyderco Endura 4. Love it but, the lock is wearing, blade is thinning, the edge widening, tip is blunting, and the blade is playing. So it's time for me to giver her a rest and treat myself to a new folder to EDC.
Now, I use my folders hard, I carry them every day consistently and I'm very picky. Here's a few things I love in a knife:
- 3"-4.5" inch blade, stocky is nice
- Strong tip, hard use is not good to a super fine tip. (Think what you'd find on a thin FFG blade)
- Good belly, this will do some food prep, so no tantos here
- A good penetrating tip, something that can pierce well
- One hand operation. I need to be able to open and close is with one had easily
- Either a lock-back or a liner/frame lock. And yes it must lock and it needs to be a pretty strong lock
- NO SERRATIONS
- Auto is okay, but assisted or manual is fine preferable
- And with any knife I buy, price is a concern. Under $100 is a must but I'm really tight on cash so -$50 is what I'd prefer
Well that's about it. What do you guys recommend for me?
Thanks,
~Jake
