Alright, Lets find me a new EDC

And the ergos on the Adamas are approximately like that of a cinder block

And they look like they weigh as much too. I know.

I used to feel like you do. Then I got one in my hand. The ergos are the same no matter how you hold it. A well thought out knife. If you want a Benchmade and just can't like the Adamas, consider the HK 14715.

What do you want? A knife handle shaped like a banana?

Well that or a good rubber one, ribber for pleas- I mean uhh... Ergos

Really though. Of the knives I'v handled (A lot) the Adamas was one of the least comfortable. Solid blade no doubt but just not my style.

Also, guys. I'm not insulting the design(er) I'm just saying it is uncomfortable to me. I also don't like ZTs for the same reason. Still incredible knives though.

My apologies, but it does has the strongest tip. For around 50 USD and under 100 USD you won't find a "stronger" knife with a "strong tip" than the Recon 1 tanto I think.

The non-tanto option for you would be the Recon 1 spear point then.

Of course there are plenty of non-tanto options with a strong tip, but then I'm thinking of the 0560 which is way over your budget. The non-tanto options with a strong tip that cost 50 USD or less, like the Kershaw Thermite come with 8Cr13MoV steel which I personally would never recommend anyone. (Also the Thermite has a straighter edge than the Recon 1 tanto by the way.)

The more I think on it the more the Recon stands out to me

The two blades I think are most useful for their price point are the manix 2 lw and the griptilian. Both can be found for well under $100.

I didn't go through the whole thread bit has anyone noted a blur, camber or code 4. I'm looking to get the code 4 in the new steel. A small.

I know Cold Steel has to overcome its mall ninja reputation, but the fact is, they build great knives. The new American Lawman CTS-XHP model is thinner than previously and should make a great EDC knife. I have one in my shopping cart, now. However, there is certainly nothing wrong with buying a new Endura. I have one. Great knife.

Brain freeze/Freudian slip I was thinking mini lawman in cts in my head but my heart wanted a giant code 4 lol.

I don't know if you've gotten anything yet. But since the knife you're replacing is an endura I recommend steering away from the hk everyone is talking about, it is much smaller. I use my endura a lot for food prep as well ;)

I just got a cold steel code 4 in xhp and I would recommend steering away from that as well if you like the sure grip the endura offers. It feels good in hand but im sure it'll slip when used a lot.

Get a pm2 on the exchange! Or a manix 2 lightweight....or..... A sog flash 2 for <50 bucks. Or heck....another endura in a new color. If you are considering the hk despite the small size I would recommend a skyline to save a chunk of change.

It also may be worth your while to consider steering away from lockback knives and tri-ads because takedown and reassembly is a pain compared to a good frame lock or liner lock. If you're putting your knife through so much nothing makes it feel as new as a good disassembly and cleanin. I recently took apart my endura because it got so mucked up with food I couldn't take it anymore. Twas quite a pain compared to a skyline or something similar.
