What is the difference between a Standard and a Magnum handle? I searched for this but didn't find much. Pics would be very helpful! Thanks everybody!

"There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers" :)

Standard handles on most Busse knives are thin (about 1/4") and not contoured very much

Magnum handles are over 1/2" most often very contoured. One that isnt heavily contoured is the Magnum Tac handle.

A rough measurement of the magnum scales on my NMSFNO go from 5/8" at the thinnest to 31/32" at the thickest. The valleys were all the same, but the peaks at the rivet points, the peak at the top of the handle was 30/32". Not really a significant variance, in my opinion.

Ah gotcha. Thanks guys that was pretty much all the help I needed! If anyone else has pictures to donate to this thread for comparison it would be much appreciated.

Forgot to mention, that's overall thickness. I have some pretty big mitts, and the magnum handle feels great to me. I don't have a set of scales off of the handle or a standard handle to give you a measurement of those.

Here are some pics for ya to look at.......mags (NMSFNO and BWM) and standard (CGFBM).

Enjoy!

Mostly the difference is being about 1/4" thicker at each of the tube fasteners on most models. The areas in between are about the same as you can see with the layer lines in these pics.

Ok so the mags are simply more bubbled at the swells? BTW thank you for all the replies! You guys are awesome!
