Alright, Who is Loading up the Carts again???

Cart hogs suck. Yes, it is extremely annoying, but I seriously doubt it is costing the BCS any business. Once the cart hogs have their fun, all of the knives will sell eventually. Just because people can't get the knives within the first few minutes, or hours of them being offered, that doesn't mean that they can't get them at all. Taking cart hoggers into consideration is just an additional aspect of pork-fu that must be mastered.

I'd say you're generally right, MW.

But this time it went beyond that. Somebody is playing nasty little games with Scott and Vicky, and I don't find that funny.

In a sense, this constitutes interfering with interstate commerce. That's a federal crime.:grumpy:

Agreed....

I also have a problem with those who load their cart, then contact people to tell them "I'll drop one for ya".

Sorry guys, not cool.

I have a "SOW SE-2007 - Special Edition, doublecut with black/olive G-10." and a "Battle Mistress - Black with mag black canvas micarta, saber @ .310" in my cart right now. I might be so uncool as to drop them, although I'm not contacting anyone first.

I'm not cart hoggin'; just trying do decide whether I really want to spend all that money right now, what with Christmas coming up and the possibility of a ganzaaaaaa score.

Yeah, I think we all can agree that this kind of thing isn't cart hogging. After all, it's pretty hard to buy anything without putting it in the cart first, and sometimes you need a little time to consider. :)

But there are folks out there with dozens if not hundreds of knives in their carts, and they certainly are not going to even consider buying them all. These people just get in and cart *everything* they see, except for the stuff that has been around for ages like the wardens - and some folks cart even those in their fury. *That* is cart hogging. And that sucks.

I do think it actually negatively affects business, which is bad, since I've never gotten anything but the best of customer service from Skunk.

When cart hogs cart everything in less than 30 seconds, you can bet there are people who go "Screw it" and go get their blades from the secondary market instead. Some people quit trying, since they can't beat the cart hogs in speed. And it's certainly true that cart hogs cause extra work for, well, everyone, and time is money.

When the heck did you put them IN your cart?

When there's a stampede like I assume there was last night (I missed out on this one), I try to toss one of everything in my cart before I even have time to see what I'm getting. If I took the time to actually read what it was (and it's something really good), it would be gone by the time I added it. But I do sort through them pretty quickly and toss back the ones I know I'm not going to buy.

BTW- I think I'll be tossing back the SOW and FBM in a couple minutes, in case anyone's still interested. I just can't justify the expense at this time. Frickin' property taxes due at the end of the month too. Forgot about that.

Maybe 25 minutes ago. About 9:40 CST this morning. They'll be available again for a couple seconds any minute now.

Edited to add: And they're gone. Who got 'em?

They're back again - it was just the cart hogs. ;)

I would bet most of the knives, or at least a lot of them, are still unsold, just waiting to get out of the carts. If anyone's interested in FBMs, SOWs, BATACs or Meaners, now would be a good time to F5 for a while.

Man! I grabbed the black/blue FBM and went and checked my bank account. Crap, I wish you hadn't mentioned TAXES! I dumped it back. Oh well.

I saw them when you dropped em. Gone in a minute!

I just saw a FFBM pop up, there's still stuff there, for those with patience and strong F5 fingers.

What exactly is a Cart Hog, and what exactly is the complaint? I'm just curious.

It is common for me to add several of a given new item to my cart when I see them, until I have decided whether I want them or not, because I know the store sells out fast. I say "several" because if I pull the trigger I generally will buy up to 2-3 of a given thing I like (knowing it can not be replaced at a fair cost down the road, and wanting to have a user and also a safe queen).

Is that cart hogging?

I think everyone is complaining about folks who load up their cart with as many knives as possible, to find out how many they are, and then don't empty their carts afterwards. Having 2 or 3 knives in your cart is not cart hogging.. Having 1,000 of a given knife IS. Unless they really intend to buy 1000 FBMLEs.

Yeah, that's exactly it. If you're going to buy 10 knives, then you're going to have to cart that many - it's okay. Hell, I bet Skunk doesn't mind. ;)

It becomes cart hogging when one just throws everything in the cart, in such huge quantities that it's ridiculous. The complaint is that it plainly, sucks. Like yesterday - it took all of 4 seconds for hundreds of knives to disappear, and they've been slowly dropping back and disappearing again ever since. It would be easier for everyone if people didn't cart hog such quantities. The worst of all are the kind of guys like that one mystery fellow that keeps carting the same knives for hours and even days, and then releasing them, and carting them again the next day. What is the point?

Maybe someone has a carting program with some bugs that need fixing.

go ahead... fill your cart ;)

Is the only post I can find. Regarding the cart hogging, here goes:

This has been occuring for a year now. For those that think it's fun, why? You are screwing with someone's life, time, profit and system. I speak in regards to those that put way more knives in their cart then they know they can buy in this lifetime or two months. To those with a few to decide, I understand that one.

We may joke around here often, but the losers and idiots that screw with someone's lively hood is what has kept me away for a while. If I want to deal with schmucks, I'll go to Wally World during Christmas time. I come here to hang with family and enjoy the knives that have been a part of my life. This is the Christmas season, a time of giving.... So why don't you give Scott and Vicki and the rest of us a break from your childish games? Never know when someone out there is trying to buy a knife for their deployed father, mother, daughter, son, etc. or just want to brighten someone's day. Do they know they will pop back up? I don't know, but don't think it's likely.

I've upped my standards, so UP YOURS
