Alsdorf Ivory Peanut
I bought this knife directly from Mike in 2010 (Marked on knife blade as well) and have carried and used it lightly a few times. It has no real signs of use and certainly no signs of abuse or sharpening. Very near new condition. It was always carried in a slip case.
Unlike most of Mikes Ivory knives this one has genuine Pre-Ban Elephant Ivory--Not Mammoth or Mastodon Ivory. I bought these scales some years back when you could still buy Ivory on Ebay and kept them until Mike started making Peanuts. This Ivory was cut, sealed on the ends and had a date and county of origin. In other words this was professionally processed Ivory. I have since forgotten the country in Africa, but I do remember the scales were taken from a tusk dated in the late 1950's. After Mike completed this knife he let it sit in his shop for an extended time to be sure the scales were "stable"--They have no cracks, checks or imperfections.
Photos don't do this knife justice!!! Must see to believe the workmanship.
