Altering Nimravus Cub carbon fiber sheath?

I recall reading that people had modified their old style Nimravus sheaths for better retention and possible neck carry. Has anyone succesfully done this with the new style of sheath with the kydex and fiber weave? I do not like it in it's current configuration and would like to do away with the belt loop. Any ideas or help is appreciated. I would consider getting a new sheath if needed.
Thanks,
David

Snoopy,

Sorry, I wish I could help but I am search too as I have the old style sheath and while I love it, I would like to tighten it up a bit. Any suggestions?

OK guys,
I haven't seen the new style sheath yet so I'm not qualified to comment on it, however, the old style sheath can be tightened up by drilling a hole thru the sheath flaps out towards the edge of the sheath by where the finger guard rests when in the sheath. Whew! After drilling the hole, rivet it. This will tighten the sheath to the point where it can be carried inverted if desired but will not significantly change the withdrawal pressure required to deploy the blade. It will be a little harder to withdraw, but not a lot.
I hope this makes sense as it would be vastly easier to show you where to drill, but, I don't have a scanner yet. Drat!

Snoopy...

I work with this stuff everyday,, I'm not quite sure what you are asking..

You are talking about carbon fiber patterned Concealex Right?

You want to remove the belt loop,, make it a tighter fit and turn it into a neck knife?

Easily done,, if you are careful...

Remove the posts holding the belt loop on,, remove the knife from the sheath and gently warm an area of the sheath where you want to make the adjustment..

When it starts to get soft,,insert the knife and form it tighter around the handle,,or make a slight dimple in the sheath, about an inch or so where the handle enters the sheath. This will have to be done with the knife out..

The dimple will give it extra tension and enable you to wear upside down. Drill two holes at the end of the sheath and insert your cord...

If all else fails,,you can send it to me,,and I will tighten it up for you...

If you have any more questions,, feel free to e-mail me at ericn@mnsi.net I'll help you as much as I can under these conditions...

Goodl luck, you should have no problem with it..
