Alternative cordage to paracord?

Anyone use pull tape/mule tape? The 1/2" "lite" stuff has a tensile strength of 1250#

Yes. I bring it home from work. Electricians throw it out all the time and it even has the footage printed on it.
 
Another huge fan of jute twine here. To quote one of the best threads I've ever read on this site, "Y'all carry twine in your packs, right"?
 
What good usages have you found for it? What about tying knots in it?

I use it just like rope. Same knots worked well for me like bowline, clove and truckers hitch. Mostly hoisting buckets full of tools or water. Hanging fish from piers. Securing loads on back of my truck. Just a little harder to untie is all.
 
tarred #36 bankline is my favorite but I caution knots are a pain unless you make them quick release or slippery
