Alternative to Benchmade?

I have folding knives from Lionsteel, Chris Reeves, ZT, Al Mar, Swamp Rat, and Cold Steel. All good knives that I like. I especially like Lionsteel for a high end knife. But somehow, my ancient Spyderco Native finds its way into my pocket at least as much as all the others combined.

You don't get it because they have already gotten to you. That's what happens when you sleep without your foil hat. The conspiracy is real. Benchmade is sending our guns to Putin to use against us in the end times. I know it's true, I read it on the internet.

Russian trolls work both sides to sow discord in ANY issue - their ultimate purpose is to have the right and left hate each other so much that any meaningful debate is drowned out with vitriol. Sadly, they seem to be winning. (I hope people fight this now that it's a known and ongoing thing)

there are many many other well documented examples if you care to research

I've only skimmed through the posts on this forum regarding the so-called Benchmade fiasco/controversy, but I'm just wondering if this isn't something that's getting totally blown out of proportion. Like it's giving the keyboard jockies something to go on about, as is typical on the internet. Maybe a classic case of making a mountain out of a molehill?

To some, what they did was very very wrong (and hypocritical)...there is a portion (and a vocal one) of the internet using public that feels the second amendment is an absolute right and many also feel it is constantly being threatened. Obama got flack for his “bitter clingers” comment but it’s pretty accurate, more so today.

Anyway, Hogue and the new generation RSK have an improved axis lock type mechanism and initial feedback is very good.

If you really want to know about where donations are going, go HERE and put a company's name into the "employer" box.
Here are some to get you started.
  • Sal Glesser (Spyderco) donated about $1000 to Ben Carson in 2015-16
  • Les and Roberta de Asis (owners of Benchmade) donated over $10,000 to Kurt Schrader since 2016 (Democrat Congressman from the district where Benchmade is located; receives money from the NRA, had an "A" rating from NRA in 2010; voted for national CCW reciprocity); donated $2700 to Martin Heinrich in 2017 (Democrat Congressman from New Mexico; former NRA member who severed ties; rated 13% by NRA)
  • David Wattenberg (President of ProTech Knives) donated $250 to Mitt Romney in 2012
  • Joe McSwiney (CEO of SOG Knives and Tools) donated $500 to Maria Cantwell in 2017 (Democrat Congresswoman from WA; NRA "F" rating)

Can someone post cliffs or a link of the BM controversy?
It's not that hard to find... it's all over BF's and just about any social media site you can think of.

Enough of the politics, paid members can take that discussion to the Political Arena. If you don't have a paid membership, buy one or take the discussion somewhere else.
