Hello I am looking for a knife that is similar to the cold steel voyager large(so 4" blade)it has to be the samePrice range. locking type is not important. No special Steel required. No Tanto blade please. Plain edge or half serrated is okay. The handle should be classic black.

Cold Steel large Talwar?

What is wrong with the Recon? You just want something different that is similar in size and price? The shape or design doesn't matter more because there are potentially many different types of knives.

Does it have to be a folder because a fixed blade would really open up the options. Maybe a little of what it will be used for? Can the blade be a little shorter than 4"? If you went down to 3.5" you would also really open up the options.

SOG magnadot?
Blade is 3.6", but I always thought it was (old) voyager-ish.

The Recon one has a black blade I am looking for a silver blade and a black handle. Apart from that the recon is too expensive. The Talwar doesn't look good in my opinion. The knife has to be a folder because I only collect folding knives.

I knew that there are not a lot options with 4 inch blades. So let's get down to 3.5 inches but definitely not below. I do not have a specific usage for this knife I am more a collector. You can recommend anything apart from real steel and Kershaw. The bigger the better. The design plays the most important role for me so it would be good if you name name many different models.

The SOG by the way looks quite good but Why is it so cheap? The flash II on the other hand costs a lot more.

Indeed Spyderco makes great knives. But I consider them to be really ugly. :D
As a reference point I have to admit that I consider most Cold Steel models to be looking good(Recon 1 especially), and also Zero Tolerance(of course by far out of my price range).

I am already happy that you guys started suggesting some models. If we dont find anyone that I like, I will take the Voyager large. The point is that I already have this model in the tanto version. :)

Spyderco Resilience or Endura

I'll echo this. When I first got into knives, the Endura was the first purchase that got the ball rolling. Had one in the rotation ever since. Geez, been 10 years now. Just a solid, well built, highly functional knife.

Google EKA knives, Big Swede. A take on clip point pretty affordable and have good reputation.

Well design is about personalpreference. You keep recommending Spyderco because they are indeed great knives. I wouldn't dare to argue about that but the look is absolutely not my taste and the most important thing is that the knife fits into my collection. I already ordered the voyager large and the SOG magnadot. There was only one available of both :) So thanks for helping me(great forum btw)

Are you opposed to high quality Chinese made knives? Kizer Vanguard line may have something you like.

Knocking out Kershaw and Spyderco knocks out many quality knives in that price range. Maybe Buck? I think you are looking for something a little cheaper than I was originally thinking which I don't have much knowledge of. Hopefully someone else has some ideas.

I don't really bother where the knives are made. The quality counts. I knocked out Kershaw because I already have models. But in the end I am pretty satisfied with the Answers I got. Thats why i already ordered some.
