Hi all,

HTMMFDRMM3DLCAODAM.jpg

I really like the design of the HTM DDR Madd 3'' Folding Dagger. I just can't imagine me carrying 400 USD worth of knife everyday. 400 Dollars that could be lost, confiscated or stolen. I'm then looking for other options. I would appreaciate it if you guys could suggest an alternative. Budget: 120 USD max. Manual opening, 3 inches maximum length due to going to Los Angeles everyday.

Thank you beforehand.

Look for the AG Russell folding Sting.

Too bad that one is discontinued. I found one on ebay but I don't want to get intp a bid war at the moment. Any other idea?

Literally anything. Literally.

A $5 gas station knife would serve you better than any piece of garbage with Darrell Ralph's name on it.

Benchmade 530 is the only knife I can think of off hand with a dagger grind but I would just go to your favorite knife dealer and type dagger grind into the search window. Anything will be better than HTM or DDR or DRT

you can get a HTM made DDR mad maxx for much lower than 400

I've seen them around 260 USD on ebay. Still, wouldn't want to lose over 200 dollars for any reason.

Why so much hate? Btw, I already searched on knifecenter, bladehq, Amazon and ebay. That's why I'm asking here.

I forgot to mention... HTM are garbage. Darrel's design was licensed to them and they made junk. I have owned $10k+ in actual Darrel Ralph customs with no issues.

Bladehq, do a search with your blade type and just see what comes up . It'd be a good Starting point at least.

it is a beautiful knife. But, it is greated than 3'' and an auto. I'm looking for the following:

Dagger or bayonet grind.
Manual opening
3 inches or less
$120 or less.

bm 0530

Btw, what makes HTM so bad?

Just do searches. Darrell screwed a ton of people over and then washes his hands of the company blaming some mystery silent business partner who screwed everything up. They had horrible fit and finish, horrible quality control, blades came dull, parts broke, lock up was horrible, we can go on an on. All the while Darrell was there as the face of the company telling everyone how he was trying to fix it because he was so involved with it while he was just secretly planning his exit strategy.

Then one day, poof, HTM disappears and everyone who bought their knives were left holding worthless shit that couldn't get warranty work done, which is a big deal when the vast majority of the knives they made had to go back for warranty work.

He's a turd of a human being and the fact that people still patronize him shocks me. He should have been relegated to Tim Britton status a long long time ago.

Yeah... I searched. Too bad. I really like the design. I'll buy it if it ever goes below 100.

LOL... I see Scurvy is still harboring major butthurt from the bad trip he had on the HTM drug...

Uhhh, okay. I get that you were slighted in your HTM venture, but that quote there is a bit of a stretch. "Literally anything. Literally"

On the plus side, you did mention the BM 530. As will I. The 530 is a great piece. Light, sharp, in you price range.

Or go with Scurvy's $5 gas station knife. Up to you, really.

Yes literally. A gas station knife will come with an edge on it. A knife is pretty useless if it can't cut.
