First post here, so I hope this is an interesting question for you guys:
What would be a good alternative to an Izula, with similar versatility, portability and coolness, but at a lower price?
I mention the Izula because I think it's a reference to a lot of people and it pretty much looks like what I have in mind.
What I'm looking for is this type of small and simple fixed blade, but very strong, with a versatile sheath.
The idea is to carry it together with an axe, sheaths attached. On different situations, it will also be carried on a belt or attached to the outside of a backpack. To be used in the woods almost exclusively, with snow in the winter and rain the rest of the year.
The thing is, I won't use it all that much, so I think something in stainless steel would probably be better. And I don't want something pricey, because the axe gets a beating and anything attached to it will also suffer.
Any suggestions? Are other manufacturers coming up with something interesting to stand up to the popularity of RAT knives?
