Just wondering which non-Chinese manufactured Spyderco is the closest match to the Tenacious in size and style. Would it be the Caly 3?

I don't know how the size compares, but I'd say the Para Military & the Mule Team project fixed blade are closest in style.

I would say having and owning the new tenacious after giving it the doubt of being a "real" spyderco that you would have to compare it to the mini-manix. Para would come in second, but not even close the mini-manix. Its really quite impressed me with every point it has to its name. The blade (sharp and easy to get razor sharp), the stout folder g10 handle, solid and excellent lockup, and great form fitting on the hands w/jimpling.

Just get a Tenacious! LOL unless you have 80 dollars extra laying around to get a Para or Mini Manix.

Well, the Mule Team is like a fixed blade Tenacious straight off almost.
If you want a folder I'd also say the Mini Manix or the Para Millie though. Caly is nice too, but a little smaller.

I would agree that the Paramilitary, Mini-Manix and Mule are all extremely close in design to the Tenacious. But have no doubts, the Tenacious DOES live up to the Spyderco name.

It's not out yet, but I think the Native IV is very much like the tenacious. But, as some have already mentioned, you'd be paying tons more for the Native IV (I bet MSRP will be close to $180).

I have no doubt that the Tenacious lives up to the Spyderco name. I've never gotten around to buying a Spyderco yet, but have handled plenty and love them. From what I've read here, Sal does not allow for any type of inferior build quality to cut costs. But when given an option (happens less and less each day) I try to stay away from Chinese products, and look for American, or at least an ally's products.

The Native IV does look awesome. And this is coming from someone who hates the blade on the III (to martial-looking)
