Alternatives to BM 940 are BM 940. I have not seen a folder that is close to 940.

Put a little blue LocTite on the pivot screw before inserting it into the T-nut. That should hold the adjustment.I just managed to get my hands on a Benchmade 940. 365 USD. Everything where I live is more expensive, but please cry for me.
And if that price is not enough, I'm not really happy with my knife.
This is a 100 % new, 100 % genuine knife, and for 365 I would expect a sharp knife. This was not. Disappointing, but an easy fix.
My biggest problem is that it's really hard to find the sweet spot between action and blade play. And even worse, when you find that sweet spot, a few minutes of use will loosen that pivot to great action and lots of blade play. I've now tried with some glue in the pivot screw, but even if I'll be able to fix it, the knife will always come in way lower than my expectations.
I do however love the rest of the knife. Especially the looks.
Lol, I love the analogy. I had the same experience with an Emerson CQ-7. In fact, chose it instead of a Benchmade 940. Still haven't picked up an940 but it's on my list.I want the 940. I want to love it, but it's like my internet sweet heart that didn't quite turn out to be what I dreamt of...but I'll send all my savings to Nigeria anyway.
Sebenza is nice, I bet I would have loved it, but it's hard to spend the money when it doesn't make my tingle tingle.
Glue?! Blue Locktite and let it harden for 24 hours is all you need.My biggest problem is that it's really hard to find the sweet spot between action and blade play.
