Why is the EE better than the maximization pygmy falcon2

Maxpedition's "hard-use" gear, is more what I'd call light to medium use gear.
I have several Maxpedition items, including the Pygmy Falcon, which I'm debating whether I'll bother sending back to have the zippers replaced, and a shoulder strap stitched back into place. Love the design, and it was fine for about a year, then it just fell apart within a few weeks. I like their products well enough(particularly that Pygmy Falcon, which I was almost inseparable from), otherwise I'd have never been a repeat customer, but heavy duty it isn't.
The Kifaru stuff is.
A friend has the E&E(and Pointman, a selection of accessories and pouches, and one of those humongous bags that I can't remember the name of).
He got me to check them out, and was going to loan me any of them I was interested in. I passed, because they really weren't what I was looking for, but they were BUILT. 'Course they're a lot more expensive, too.
