Although I'm not a motorcycle guy, I do like a good looking Buck Bowie knife!...

Interesting collectable. Today we might expect a closer fit of the guard.
I wonder about your username, as you seem to post a lot more fixed blades than pocket knives!

I have and collect both, fixed and folders... But, yes, I definitely have collected the fixed blade more in recent years.

While I was relining the interior of the knife's display case, I decided to put the knife up towards the light, and no light whatsoever shines through where the blade's ricasso butts up against the guard. It is an illusion that there is a gap at the ends.
I was pleased to discover that it is indeed perfectly fitted at that juncture ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‘

While I was out and about earlier this morning, I decided to pick up a yard of a satin blue material that would be closer to the original blue felt the knife's display case has.
Covering over that blue felt with the red satin material looked good, but I wanted to see what the blue satin would look like.

Well, I untucked the red satin material and tucked in the blue satin one over the original blue felt, and... I actually like the blue satin look better for this knife display.
It's probably because it simply is closer to the color it originally came with, and doesn't clash with the remaining esposed blue felt that is on the edges of the display's wood/glass top.

I pulled out my Buckmaster history book to find the knife and to take these pics of some pages that show the Harley Davidson 908 Bowie Custom Shop knife in it...

I wish I could X-Ray the handle to see how they attached/secured the blade's stub tang.
They likely did something like what they do with the M9 Bayonet's stub tang blade ๐Ÿค”

Well, I wound up getting another Buck Custom Shop made Harley Davidson Bowie knife.
This one is a Buck model 903.

It was made in 1984 exclusively for, and sold by, the Harley Davidson Company. The edition was for 3,000 to be made.

The knife is in mint condition, the previous owner obviously knew how to take care of it and keep it looking that way ๐Ÿ‘
As for the display box... It's very nice, but I'll need to find replacement closure hasps for it. Actually, I have seen other listings for these exact same knives where they mention a hasp missing or broken on their display boxes. It seems the hasps used on them were simply too flimsy. I will find a different and better type hasp that will still fit in with the display's flair. Kind'a cool that in two years this knife will turn 40 years old ๐Ÿ‘

I find this knife to be VERY well made, and very cool looking. It is a big knife, and much more impressive in hand where one can really see the craftsmanship put into it. Pictures don't do it justice on showing how beautiful it is!

I really like this knife. It has instantly made the list as one of my favorite Bowie knives in my collection.
The Buck Custom Shop truly knocked it out of the park with this Harley Davidson Bowie.
The etching/gold work done by the company that was contracted by Buck to do this work, is spot on... Simply beautifully done!

The last two Buck knife purchases I've made, (these two Buck Custom Shop made Harley Davidson exclusive Bowie knives), have opened my eyes a bit more to what Buck is, (or at least was), capable of doing.
Prior to obtaining these two knives, my opinion was that Buck offered nicely made and nice looking workman like knives. While I still feel that way, these Buck made Bowie knives that came out of their old Custom Shop, have me realizing how much more they have offered.
Buck is certainly a great American asset!

I made a $270 offer to the 100% rated "bay" vendor that was selling this Bowie knife, which he accepted. That was only $30 less than what he had it listed for, but it was a savings nonetheless. That savings helped to offset the shipping and state taxes that were also part of the overall price in obtaining this knife.
All in all, I think I got it at an exceptionally good price ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well, since the broken hasps on this knife's display box needed some fixing, some fixing it got.
I simply found a couple of new replacements for them. I did run into a few at the store that would be more like factory originals, but since they still wouldn't be the originals, I decided on what I felt would be an improvement over them.

Here again is how the damaged hasps looked before I replaced them...

And here is the display box with the new hasps installed...

So, the mission has now been accomplished, and I personally do think that they look right at home on this display/storage box ๐Ÿ‘
