Altoid Survival Kits missing the most important item

The most important item of a survival kit is us ... the immense satisfaction of building the kit and contemplating experiencing the wilderness, what a great reason for constructing one.
Then there's the possibility of getting out there and doing it ... if we cant do that then maybe build the kit and let our imaginations do the adventure.
I've got kits of all shapes and sizes in many places amongst my adventure equipment and water purification in quite a few of them. Drinking dirty water usually goes through me within about 4 to 6 hours ... I have to say that I've gotten a lot better choosing the water I drink without purifying it.
The most commonly used item among my kits ... the condom lol and then there's the pain killers including asprin.
As for carrying the kits ... I most commonly use them to compensate for something I don't have or forgotten.
I even have the most simple kit on my keys ... a victorinox classic, a fenix E01 and a bit of magnesium alloy with a bit of ferro rod glued to it.
I gotta say the fenix, I would be absolutely devastated if I lost it. That and the classic I use nearly every day and have done for many years.
My most popular kit has evolved into a red insulated bag that stays on the ready in my kitchen, ready to be thrown into the car with the swag for a last minute weekend away ... what I have nicknamed a "seat of your pants adventure". It has a couple of knife fork kits, plates, multifuel cooker, tea, insect repellent, suncream and an altoids survival kit. There’s a few other necessities in there but it started as a small kit. I got kits everywhere of varying shapes and sizes and had loads of fun building every one of them. Anything that gets us thinking about going out into our magnificent outdoors is a good thing and if we are thinking about survival then that's even better!
Then there's learning about new components or how to compensate for a part that we can take out of the kit to make it smaller ... the key here is "learning".
I say keep building kits and carrying them no matter what they have in them within reason, anything that helps us escape to the wilderness in reality or in our imaginations.
Probably the most important survival kit component ... a satellite phone(which i don’t have by the way).

I haven't logged on for a week or so but this to me really hits the spot. I think in most of my outdoor purchases and even knife buying crusades I have more fun than most "day dreaming" about getting to use the item or kit since I don't really get a chance to go outdoors. It's something that work and family time need adjusting on so I can get my family outdoors which is where I spent my boyhood having adventures.
