I've always pretty much spread my 'personal survival stuff' across my person, and still do. A match case here, some cordage there, and a really good main kit always on my person.
Well, I broke down and bought some Altoids at the market just to see what I would come up with. After dumping those curiously strong mints out, I proceeded to ravage the apartment looking for small goodies. This is the kit in its unfinished form:
Contents:
tea bag
strike anywhere matches
various important meds in a ziploc bag, wrapped in duct tape
Mini-SAK
Mini-Bic
Chlorine tabs
Alcohol pads
bandaids
neosporin
anti-diarrheal tabs
sandpaper
foil
clothes pin(s)
needle and thread
The big black compass thing goes on the outside with a paracord wrap, and the whole thing goes into a heavy duty ziploc bag and into my pocket. The big black thing has a compass, LED, and red flashing LED. Very handy!
The kit isn't quite finished, it lacks a few goodies. Some fishing supplies, extra clothes pins, and a couple of other little things hidden on a list somewhere that I'm too lazy to go find.
Just thought I'd share another example!
