Aluminum bolsters

I know aluminum touching steel and if water is involved it can cause corrosion, but is there an issue with using aluminum bolsters if I use a liner under it to shield it from touching the steel? Only reason I ask is that I have a bunch of 3/4, and misc aluminum at my disposal, and free.

Thanks,
Matt

Could probably sell that to all the guys asking about quench plates. ;)

I'm not a fan of aluminum on handles in any capacity, but that doesn't really help does it? :p

Aluminum guards and pommels have been used on knives for 80+ years without problems.
While finger guards and pommels on stick tangs are one thing, how would you attach bolsters? The only way is with pins.

Bolsters are meant to add more security to the handle/tang junction and to bolster the knives at one of the most critical area/s...I don't think aluminum would be durable enough to fit those demands. Liners on bolsters would also likely to have fit issues since they are generally secured with peened zero clearance pins.
