Today I received my very first fire piston from ebay and man that thing is beyond awesome.
I got an aluminum one because it's low weight and very compact.
I also like that it doesn't look like a sex toy (unlike most other fire pistons imho)
It has a lanyard hole and came with 4 spare o-rings (2 sets, big and small), charred cloth and extra lubricant.
Also included was a small button compass on a mini lanyard and carabiner.

Being a total fire piston noob I managed to get the charred cloth going after only five or six tries.

more info on the ebay page (just search for aluminum fire piston)

some very, very small downsides:
- lanyard hole is too small for paracord (works perfect with a split ring though)
- there is some rattle when the rod is fully inserted in the tube (can easily be fixed, maybe by adding a thin rubber washer, or some tape)

ROFL! Incidentally this might crossover into Prac/Tac. That looks like it might do as a kubotan/yawara stick just in case!

I used charred cloth for tinder.

And yeah, some lube is really important with these things..
