Hi All,
I'm interested in how well aluminum works for knife fittings (guard, possible handle scales etc) and specifically how much of an issue galvanic corrosion is. I see a fair amount of aluminum handles mostly on folders and a lot of those are anodized which would prevent much of the problem I assume. Many older knives seem to use aluminum pommels (without anodizing) and they seem to be fine.
Are there any specific tips/tricks or things you need to do or is this mostly a non issue?
I am planning on using 1095 and 5160 for some heavy copper type blades if the steel makes any difference.
Thanks
